Another day.

Vet doesn't know what's going on. Can't really do tests. Gave antibiotics as a precaution and we'll see if it makes any difference. I'm going to buy a blood glucose meter, which the vet encouraged, and I'll monitor his blood sugar myself to try to keep it in the 150 to 250 sweet spot and try to get him happier and healthier ( Read more... )

He's gone crazy since we got home. He refuses to use the litter box and has pissed on the carpet, on the tile just outside his litter box twice, and now he's isolated in our half bath, where he refuses to use the litter box I put in there for him and shit on the floor, followed by about 2 cups of almost-water urine.

I start giving him antibiotics in an hour and a half and I'll leave him in there, with feedings and pills for a few days to see if he'll actually stop being a shrieking hissing piss-monster and act vaguely normal.

Man, I hope the antibiotics do something for him. That's no fun for you guys, and I bet he's probably in a lot of pain. Poor little guy. :(

Usually I can tell when he's in pain, as he gets very uncomfortable and sad.

He doesn't seem to be showing any of his usual signs of pain. He's just getting kind of bitter and shitty.

It feels like all I do is deal with retarded shit from one of my cats. If somebody isn't pissing or shitting on something lately, it's a slow day.

I often regret getting most of them, what with the fact that it made it near-impossible to find us somewhere to rent up here and then the cost for everything they've destroyed over the years.

I should have leased kittens instead of buying.

Yes, but I'm not allowed in while blood is being taken. He always acts better at the vet in my presence, because he at least trusts me.
