don't you hate it when good ideas are ruined by technology? I spur of the moment decided to buy some ethernet cable so both the Home pc and my laptop can be connected to the net at the same time. I really should of noticed the fact that the modem only had one ethernet port XD

This is why Fantasy really is better than Sci-Fi. I totally would've just magic'd up another hole in the modem. Instead you got screwed by the cold callousness of a machine.
In lieu of magic I suggest using a fork to jam a new hole into the box.
...hey, it might work.
