Day 06 - Your day, in great detail

The morning came quickly. After only four short hours of sleep, Ryan awoke to a menacing alarm. Like most early days he hit the snooze button and rolled around from the left side to the right debating what would happen to him if he just rolled back over and slept. He remembered the times of most of his 8:30am college classes and how rarely he attended them. It wasn't as if he particularly hated Market Research, in fact, he was rather good at it. It was just the fact that such dry material was often hard to absorb when his brain was still operating at half staff. He believed that if he caught one class a week (Fridays) and read the chapters thoroughly late at night (when his brain was fully staffed) he would easily learn more than the traditional way the school recommended. But since Ryan was paying the school for these services it made him feel like he was in charge and as the boss it was Ryan's decision on how he wanted roll through his college career. The only problem was he had the same teacher Tuesday night until 9pm that he did first thing Wednesday morning and he always noticed Ryan's absences.

After that trip down memory lane, Ryan did what any mature young adult who had just purchased a brand new vehicle and rolled his exhausted self out of bed and into the bathroom. Like most mornings, his roommate was already in the bathroom in nothing more than a bra and pants, fighting with her hair, make-up, outfit or toothbrush. Common jokes would be exchanged as the girl would flee the bathroom long enough for Ryan to drain his bladder and hope into the shower - at which point his roommate would return to finish off her battle with whatever was keeping her from breakfast.

After his shower, Ryan would get changed, style his hair, moisturize his face, brushes his teeth and whatever else is in need of completing before he scurries out of the house. If he's lucky, like today he has time to stop at Starbucks for a grande, non-fat, hazelnut latte and a bacon & egg breakfast sandwich. This stop is a treat now that Ryan has payments to make on his shiny new car.

Ryan works for his 8-hours dealing with eager gamers looking to get ahold of rental copies of Halo Reach, regular Tuesday morning customers (whom know Ryan by name and visa-versa), and a small list of tasks to accomplish before he heads home at 5:30pm. By the end of his shift he has decided to stop off at Safeway to make fresh sandwiches and soup for dinner while picking up a few other essentials to get him through the end of the week which happens to be the start of a mini-vacation.

When he gets home he feeds himself and exchanges texts with his friends while catching up on celebrity gossip, friendly blogs, local news and of course, new music. Before long he decides to give up on the day and crawl into bed to watch Date Night. When the movie finishes he is left with one last choice. Crack open a book or blog. Since he has taken a small break from his current writing challenge he decides to continue with his commitment and post a new entry.

As he closes up his laptop and curls up to sleep he wonders if anyone has been following his challenge. Are their readers who sit through his little challenges and laugh, cry, grimace, or fart? Or is he doing it in vain. Regardless, he decides to continue for as long as he can keep on top of it. And with that, he falls quickly asleep........
