Thanks. You've hit on something here that I was hoping to get through. Ryan is almost different person with Summer (eg. 'The safe and sound Mom' comment).
When he can leave the problems associated with Seth behind and just be with her (either face to face or over the phone), he can enjoy himself. He's coming to understand how special she is to him. It's quite a lot for the poor boy to get his head around. In the past, he has been able to use sex for some distraction from his problems (eg Taylor) when things are down but know he's even to the point of considering staying celibate in preference to 'cheating' on her.
It's quite a lot to get his head around.

Check out my response to jassy. I think that he's in unchartered territory for him right now. How can he feel guilty about potentially cheating on someone that he's never been with? He can't use sex as a distraction from his problems as he did with Taylor because it's at the heart of his problems.

We just have to get him over his loyalty to Seth, and his concern about upsetting the closeness that he has with Summer, for him to more forward.

But it will happen.

And Seth will help it along!! Unintentionally of course.

That is some problem for Ryan. I am curious to see how he gets out of it. I am also curious to see what happens if a girl hits on Ryan while Summer is with him.
