His loyalty to Seth had been tested time and time again. He was starting to wonder why he had even bothered, especially when Seth was so nasty, and spurned his attempts to help him.

Short answer? Ryan shouldn't care anymore. And Kirsten and Sandy are only enabling Seth.

So...I'm guessing next chapter is either Summer POV, or they actually have a face-to-face. Should I be getting excited yet?

I don't think Ryan cares much what Seth thinks anymore (ne's given up) but he's still worried about what the Cohen's will think. He doesn't wnat to lose them all.

It's getting closer but he's not quite there (emotionally) - then again, neither is Summer (physically).

'Physically'...only in the sense that they aren't in the same city, right?

I really hope you don't have Ryan dwell too long over Sandy...or more specifically, Kirsten's feelings. Seth screwed himself and deserves no respect, and Kirsten couldn't grasp that Ryan was NEVER going back to Taylor---and yet she still tried to meddle, just as in canon when I wanted to strangle her. Um.../rant. My prejudices are showing!

Yeah - Summer is avoiding him.

I love your prejudices. LOL I have many of the same ones, I
think.

But Ryan has never been good at putting his own needs first. Rightly or wrongly, he may be coming to terms with the fact that Seth doesn't deserve his loyalty but I'm not sure that he thinks that about Kirsten and Sandy just yet.

But Christmas is just around the corner ....

still pretty tricky, Ryan's living arrangements accepted, but clear signals that anything more will be a problem for the Cohens, well Kirsten. Keeping Sophie away from Ryan seems possibly a big indicator of how bad things could get.

It is still tricky. In this story at least, I think that the Cohen's have a different level of expectations for their sons. The bar for Ryan is a whole lot higher and they expect him to do the right thing. They've given up on Seth to some extent. But they are still the people whose respect Ryan values most. It makes things difficult for him.

Oh, Ryan - just bang her.
Seth is an ass and Kirsten & Sandy are too clueless.
Do her now, sweets.

Sweet and simple solution but when did Ryan ever do simple?

More to come soon.

Thanks for the update. How can his family think otherwise without getting his side of the story. They know the way that Seth is right now. I mean, come on!! Caitlyn's little reveal...Get those wheels a turnin!! His offer to visit in DC, awww sweet. Poor guy. They need to do something soon. Whether it is talking in person, hanging out, going at it...something please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Great post.

Hope you get post more soon!!!

I think that all parents jump to conclusions sometimes that they regret afterwards. Seth would have told his version of the story and it would have given him an excuse for his behaviour towards Ryan. It would be easy for his parents to believe it. I'm sure that they are doing their best at trying to believe that he hasn't stooped to the level that we know he has. They'd prefer to look at him through rose colored glasses. But they'll have to take them off sooner or later.
The next post is already done, I just need to have a little fiddle, but it won't be long.

Yes, Ryan. You need to find out.
And you need to get over that urge to put your loyalty to Seth over your own happiness.

I think that he's reached the point where his loyalty to Seth is not as important to him anymore but his loyalty to Seth's parents is still some concern.
