Is it wrong to view friends as a commodity? I don't mean to devalue the relationship, it is just that I find myself investing in some more than others. Sometimes, I win, others, i lose. Sometimes I invest in one that is going up, other times I 'sell' before I should, and I end up hurting because of it. Or other times, I am invested, and a crash ( Read more... )

I think as we grow older we tend to realize that quality of friends tends to precede the quantity we have.

Okay, i beleive you, and I dont disagree. I do not think that you are reading it the way i meant it. For me, it is not about the quantity at all. It is the fact that I end up hurting people by my shear nature of only focusing on some. I don't like... rephrase... HATE hurting people. When I do not mean to hurt someone and I do, I feel the lowest. I am trying to balance the care with the necessities of life. I feel like friends expect a lot from me, and I do expect a lot from them. It is tough to explain, but it really is not about the wuantity of friends, i assure you.
