Decent Horse Show

I had fun at the schooling show yesterday. That was depsite Taurean's dislike for flat hunter classes. The weird thing is he doesn't do his bad habits when we do the same thing back at our normal barn during lessons. Me, too . . . jumping isn't what I'm after, although I sure it would be quite a high. But when you are in the ring showing, you aren't alone. Your horse is there, too, so it's a team. I used to feel that way when I showed with my collies. No nerves at all, because the dog was there, and it was all about the dog.

I am glad you guys had fun. Dressage is great for lots of people. I have come to appreciate it in so many ways. After saying this...I could never give up cross country. It is a perfect combination of excitement and bonding with your horse (But, this is only my opinion. Dressage is like that too). I agree with you on the single team effort. Eventing is just you and your horse. Rail classes are not what I find to be exciting or challenging. Trust your instincts and your horse. You guys will figure out what is the best path.
