Summary: Dino and Squalo disscuss world of the mafia while sitting on a hill top.
Note: Inspired by AKFG's song Mada Minu Ashita Ni. Also I think Squalo is very OOC. So I'm not too proud of it.
Squalo let the warm wing rush through his hair. The air still warm even though the sun was setting, turning the sky a beautiful orange colour. The sun setting over the mountains casting long shadows, but the hill that Dino and Squalo were sitting atop, remained in the warm summer sun. Squalo wasn't thinking about anything in particular, his thoughts were drifting along like the brightly lit clouds in the sky, when Dino (who was also staring intently at the horizon), asked out of the blue, "Squalo... what's going to happen to us...?" With out removing his eyes from Italian mountaintops.
Squalo looked at his companion with serious grey eyes, "You mean with graduation coming up soon?"
Dino slowly shut his eyes and lied down onto the cold grass, "Yeah... Everyone's excited about it, But... I can't see any joy in it. All of our friends are talking about leaving and joining families or even starting their own... What if we never see them again...? I still don't know what I'm going to do with my self," He said with a hint of depression in his voice.
"Voooi" Squalo shouted, but not nearly as loud as he normally would, "How did you introduce your self to me?"
"Huh?" Dino said sitting up to look Squalo in the eye.
"How you introduced your self to me," He repeated in the same tone.
"Uhh.... I would have said my name..." Dino said not sure of himself.
" 'Hi nice to meet you, I'm Dino. I'm going to be the next Cavallone boss. Want to be friends?' " Squalo said interrupting Dino's thoughts.
"I-" He paused, "I forgot about that..."
"You already have your path set for you," Squalo said, "Your the lucky one... Me... I don't know..."
"My path set for me? I never asked to be this... There were plenty of other things that I wanted to be... a Mafia boss was not on that list! You? You can choose what you want to be! With your strength you could do just about anything!"
"My strength... Strength? Let's be honest, what good is it in this world?" It was no Squalo's turn to sound depressed.
"In this world? Are you kidding? The world that we have gotten our selves involved in, Strength is everything. Without strength... This world... The Mafia world would not turn,"
"The Mafia world... That world wouldn't exist wouldn't even exist with out knowledge, When I'm old, I'll just be some forgotten diary. You... You however will be remembered by some action or another for years to come,"
Dino stared at his friend, his grey hair falling in front of his eyes; it hurt Dino to see him like this, "Then don't become that forgotten diary! Become something more, become a legend. A legend that will be told for centuries to come."
Squalo looked up at Dino, The setting sun's light was illuminating his outline making him glow bright yellow, He thought about it for a second and gave a smile that would make a child cry to their mother. "A legend to remember for centuries eh?" He stared out watching the sun in its final moments before it fell behind the mountains, "I think I like the sound of that."
To move on into an unseen tomorrow... Dino thought, watching the sun too, No matter how sad i might become... I'll just have to keep moving and hope.
