Steve Irwin the Croc Hunter just died. I hated the connotations placed on Aussies from his shennanigans (Aussies do not proclaim 'Crikey' non stop nor do we have kangaroos in our backyard) but he was such a good guy and did so much for conservation. Plus he has two little kids. It's all rather tragic...

And this is unusually emo of me and not ( Read more... )

It was just over the radio. Only happened an hour or two ago.

He has crocodiles as pets and a stingray killed him of all things.

Total shock... Of course, I did presume he'd go out in a similar fashion, but not this early in his life.

Poor Terri and the two kids... I feel most sorry for little Bindi.

I really loved his ads for Quarantine.

Sad day. :(

I know. Bindi really seemed to adore her dad and vice versa. Such a loss.

Yes I heard something that about his wife not knowing, what happened there?

I mean I know he took life to the extreme handling such dangerous animals and going to such dangerous places but it's just so sudden and shocking.

I know! He just seemed like such good, happy go lucky guy. It's quite depressing :(

He brought such enthusiasm to his 'job'. You are right to comment. Passing should not be unmarked.

True. Although seems I'm not the only one. The net has gone into chaos now as the news has broken. Sites are going down everywhere.

What gets me though, I'm a confessed cynic but you can't really fault this guy as he did so much for environmental conservation and also clearly adored his family. So for people to actual post "LOLOLOLOL he's dead" in his wikipedia entry? Absolutely disgusting.
