The problem is system-wide and based at Central Site. Apparently the new machine that everything was depending on kinda died. Or, rather, really died. Spectacularly.
They haven't been all that eager to share details, so I have no idea what exactly went wrong with what, but it took out the entire circulation system for all 33 towns and colleges in our network.
As of five minutes ago we still have no word on when they might be back up. All the emails in my work account are various claims of "we've found the problem and the IBM people are fixing it, we should be up soon!" but that's spanning the past two days, so I know better than to trust them.
