"I wasn't perving on you I swear!"
This was not the first thing Hangeng expected to hear when he walked back into the main part of the store. The pounding of the undead had diminished to almost nothing and he winced at the loudness of Heechul's voice.
"O....kay." He said, toweling his hair as he sat down. Heechul hid his face back in his knees and sighed. "You should leave, I'm infected." He grumbled and rolled over on his side, hair falling in his face. Hangeng rolled his eyes and they landed on the pile of covers a few feet from Heechul.
"You made me a bed? Also if you were infected you'd be a hell of a lot more sick than you are. Plus you've already kissed me so I'm going to die anyways if you really are. Also, I never said you were perving on me. Yes I did see you staring at me in the shower but there's no law against looking... just don't touch me." He said with a frown.
Heechul gaped. "Yah! What a random bunch of information. Just shut up and sleep."
.........
Changmin stared at the two in the corner of the room without blinking for nearly ten minutes before someone finally spoke. "Eunhyuk's back."
Changmin snapped his head up and gasped. "Yuchun get him out of the room fast."
"But why?" "Just do it!"
Once Yuchun successfully had Eunhyuk back out of the room, the others watched as Changmin stalked over to Kibum and Donghae. "Why did you kiss hi--?" He stopped, staring in horror at Donghae. He sat hunched over, shaking slightly as he cried.
Sticking out of Kibum's head was the knife Donghae had had before. His throat was also slit, making for a quick death. Kibum's blood covered Donghae all over and Changmin felt himself shaking.
"He was infected after all.... I made a promise to him that I had to keep."
The group stood in shock as Changmin pulled Donghae to his feet.
“We need to get you cleaned up Hae, if he was infected that means his blood is too… we need to get it off you quickly”
Donghae sniffed, nodding before heading up the stairs towards the bathroom.
“Guys, can you deal with Kibum please? I know it’s not nice but we need to get his body out of here”
“No!” Donghae cried, turning round at the top of the stairs. “We…I need to bury him… It’s my fault he was infected, I… I owe him to right to rest in peace in a grave; I don’t want him to get picked apart by birds and stray dogs”
“Don’t worry Donghae, you go get cleaned up, we’ll go find a nice spot in the garden” Junsu smiled, reassuring Donghae as he entered the bathroom.
Ten minutes passed and Donghae made his way downstairs, he was blood free and wearing a pair of sweatpants and a black wife beater he had found in the closet upstairs. Eunhyuk was sat on the sofa on his own.
“The others are outside” He said quietly as he stood, holding his hand out for Donghae to take. “I forgive you Hae… just don’t do it again”
“I won’t…” Donghae mumbled as he took Eunhyuk’s hand, squeezing it tightly as he wiped his eyes.
They walked through the house and into the back garden of the house they were staying in. Junsu, Yuchun, Changmin and Shindong were all gathered around a mound of dirt, panting slightly as they dropped the shovels they were holding.
“We were careful don’t worry, he can rest peacefully now” Junsu smiled as Donghae and Eunhyuk made their way outside.
“Thank you all. You didn’t even know him… you didn’t need to do this” Donghae smiled as Eunhyuk gave his hand a squeeze. “He saved my life and now he’s dead because of me” He signed as he knelt down next to where Kibum was now buried. “Im sorry Kibum… Im sorry we didn’t have the chance to get to know each other, I wish you had the chance to meet my friends properly I know you would have liked them… Thank you for saving my life, I’ll never forget you.”
“Donghae… We need to go” Changmin whispered as distant groans grew closer “We need to find somewhere safer to stay” Donghae wiped his eyes and took Eunhyuk’s hand once again before giving the group a nod.
“Okay, we can go”
........
"Hey Heechul?"
"Hm?"
"Why'd he leave?"
"Why do you assume I'm gay?"
"Well aren't you? You kissed me."
"...... Shut up."
Hangeng sighed and sat up. "Is that your answer for everything when you're cornered?" He asked and Heechul stood, turning away from him. "I'm not cornered."
"Then why won't you answer? It's not like I'm going to pick a fight with you over a kiss. It's my last time on earth, I don't want to spend it pissed off." Hangeng reasoned, standing and turning Heechul to face him.
Heechul jerked his arm away from him and frowned. "You made it clear earlier you didn't want to be kissed and now you're saying it isn't a big deal? Stop giving me mixed signals. I might molest you again." He spat.
Hangeng rolled his eyes and crossed his arms. "Go ahead, you don't seem to have a problem with it."
Heechul stared, hurt by his words. "Yah! I'm not a whore, what happened to I'm not going to pick a fight?"
"I'm not, you're just too sensitive and can't take a joke."
Hangeng had barely gotten the words out when Heechul pushed him, making him stumble back a few steps. "Yah relax!" Hangeng said and Heechul shoved him again.
"You think this is all a big joke don't you?! Did you ever consider maybe it DID hurt to wake up alone and that maybe I don't want to talk about it?" He growled.
Hangeng pushed him back, glaring. "Lower your voice you'll attract them." He hissed and Heechul frowned, opening his mouth to scream when Hangeng pushed him against one of the pillars, hand over his mouth.
Scratching could be heard outside but it was definitely only one undead. Hangeng waited until the sound passed and he looked back at Heechul. He hadn't realized he was staring until Heechul bit his hand and stomped on his toes. "Jackass."
“Yah! Don’t bite me!” Hangeng growled and Heechul rolled his eyes, pushing past Hangeng harshly and sending him tumbling backwards to the floor.
“I would apologise… but whores don’t apologise” Heechul hissed as Hangeng pushed himself up.
“I didn’t call you a whore!”
“You might as well have. Why don’t you go bother somebody else with your terrible Korean… im tired of hearing it”
“You’re a real asshole Kim Heechul, you’ll die alone and unhappy, and you know what…. You deserve it” Heechul spat, pushing Heechul hard in the chest as he turned and stormed off down the long empty corridor.
“This is what I get for letting you in here and saving your life? I wish I had never opened that door!” Heechul shouted and Hangeng stopped, looking over his shoulder as he spoke.
“Fine” he said harshly “Im leaving enjoy being alone” he finished before heading towards the back doors.
Heechul pouted. He didn’t want to be alone, he didn’t want to die alone and as much as he hated to admit it, he didn’t want Hangeng to be out there alone either. He sighed before taking off in a run after Hangeng, almost falling over after his feet failed to stop and he went tumbling into the china man.
“Yah, Watch where you’re going!” Hangeng shouted, pushing Heechul backwards into the wall with a thud.
“I came to apologise!”
“Im sorry? The great Kim Heechul actually knows what that word means? Im shocked” Hangeng smirked, crossing his arms over his chest as Heechul glared at him, pouting slightly.
“Forget it” Heechul scoffed as he stepped away from the wall and crossed his arms with a huff.
“Did I break you?” Hangeng grinned “Are you going to stop being an ass now?” Heechul shrugged.
“So much better like this” the china man smirked stepping closer to Heechul. “Quiet…”
Heechul was about to open his mouth to speak when Hangeng did something unexpected, cupping Heechul’s face in his hands and pressing their lips together roughly as he pushed Heechul back against the wall.
When the initial shock wore off, Heechul brought his hands up and kissed Hangeng back, threading his fingers in the man's hair. The thoughts of Hangeng leaving heightened and he gripped him tighter. "Why?" He asked, tilting his head back to make room for Hangeng's kisses.
"I can't figure you out. One minute you're bitching me out and the next you're begging me not to leave. It's hot." He admitted and Heechul raised an eyebrow. "Well then, we're a match made in heaven now aren't we?" Heechul said, pushing Hangeng down onto his knees and then his back in the middle of the aisle.
Hangeng opened his mouth to speak and Heechul kissed him again, silencing whatever he may have been about to say. He pulled at the light pajamas adorning the chinese man's frame and parted with his lips, panting.
"What are we doing?" Hangeng breathed, staring up at Heechul. "Living in the moment. If you have regrets have them later."
Heechul pulled his shirt off and pushed his pants down his legs, perching himself on Hangeng once more, leaning over him. "Please, don't make me regret this." He whispered.
As he lowered himself onto Hangeng, the other pulled his face towards him, meshing their lips together in order to distract the elder. Heechul got his feet under him and began to push himself up and down, riding the other man.
Hangeng held onto him tightly, lifting his hips to meet Heechul's in their sinful dance. He grunted as Heechul's nails scraped the skin of his torso. Gripping his hips firmly, Hangeng flipped them over, leaning down and sucking at the other's skin as his pace increased. He reached up and pushed Heechul's hair from his face as the other yelled, climax seizing him and his whole body tensing.
Hangeng pressed a final kiss to his neck, spilling himself inside Heechul before darkness claimed them both.
The six of them walked cautiously away from the house, narrowly avoiding the approaching infected as they stayed clear of large open spaces, ducking in and out of alley ways and behind cars until they hit a dead end.
“What now?” Changmin asked as they got to the end of an alley way, blocked off by a high wall.
“We go back” Junsu answered, looking round for an alternate route to take other than the way they came.
“We can’t go back, those things were right behind us” Eunhyuk panted as he held tightly onto Donghae’s hand.
“Guys” Changmin shushed as he pointed to a broken ladder above them, the bottom was in pieces at their feet.
“We go up” Junsu smiled as he ushered Shindong to the bottom of the ladder. “Shindong you first” he nodded as Shindong looked worryingly at the ladder.
“Are you sure its safe?” he asked and Changmin shrugged.
“Can’t be any worse than being stood down here with those things getting closer, now hurry up.”
Changmin, Junsu and Yuchun helped Shindong to reach the ladder, pushing his legs as he climbed. Changmin was next followed by Yuchun, Junsu and then Donghae, Eunhyuk was last to climb, jumping for the bottom of the ladder with a grunt, just in time as the horde of infected closed in on the end of the alley. Junsu laughed as he peered over the edge of the roof to the increasing number of the infected gathered at the bottom of the ladder.
“That was lucky”
“Not quite” Eunhyuk hissed as he pressed his hand to the side of his leg, it was damp and the fabric of his jeans was torn.
“Hyukkie you’re bleeding…” Donghae whined and Changmin froze.
“Did they bite you?” He asked as Junsu looked over the side of the roof again.
“It isn’t a bite… it was the ladder” he sighed as his eyes reached the bottom. A sharp metal shard at the bottom of the broken ladder was red with Eunhyuk’s blood.
“I’ll be fine guys” he smiled “It’s just a scratch”
Donghae wrapped his shirt around his arm quickly and punched the window out, the shards ripping into the shirt but leaving his skin untouched. He climbed in the window and grabbed Eunhyuk from Changmin to avoid him getting hurt further.
One by one everyone made it inside the building and Yuchun looked around for something to block the window with. Junsu helped him to move something in front of it and they sighed in relief. "Why does it seem like we're the one's being chased the most in this area?" Junsu whined and Yuchun shrugged. "It only seems that way because we haven't seen anyone else."
Changmin dug in his pack for water and smiled, drinking a bit before passing it to Shindong. "Is Hyuk alright?" He asked as Donghae carried him across the room. "Yeah... I think we're in a hospital so I'm going to find a patient room." He said and Eunhyuk whined. "I can walk." He pouted and Donghae shook his head.
He left the office like room and went down the hall, entering a room with Eunhyuk and shutting the door. "Here, this should work." He said setting Eunhyuk down on the table. "Thanks Hae."
Donghae ripped the fabric of Eunhyuk's jeans and smiled slightly at the sight of Eunhyuk's leg stained scarlet. "Let me find something to clean this." He said.
He grabbed a towel and cleaned the excess blood off, leaning over and covering Eunhyuk's eyes. "Relax this might hurt." He said, leaning down and kissing the edge of the long cut. He closed his eyes and slipped his tongue out, dipping it in the wound. He didn't know why he did it but he almost.... craved it. He smiled and reached for the gauze he'd grabbed and began winding it around Eunhyuk's injury.
.............
When Heechul awoke, he immediately sat up and looked around. Hangeng wasn't there. He inhaled sharply, panic beginning to set in. He jumped when a hand landed on his shoulder and looked up into a stern face. "I'll help you get dressed, we have to go. They got in.""They… they got in? How?” Heechul asked, blinking the sleep from his eyes as Hangeng pulled a t-shirt over his head. “I can dress myself” he said with a blush.“I know, but we need to hurry. And why are you blushing?” Hangeng laughed as he pulled Heechul to his feet.
“I don’t know!” Heechul sulked as he finished dressing himself before giving Hangeng a nod.
The two of them moved quietly from the open aisle, Hangeng taking Heechul’s hand as not to lose him as he moved towards the back of the store. “They got in through the door in the garden centre” Hangeng whispered as they walked, reaching the automatic doors leading to the garden centre and stopping in the darkness. Heechul peered round the doors, which had been locked for safety. Around ten to fifteen zombies were stumbling around the majority were missing limbs, feet or hands. There was a boy on the floor pulling himself along with his hands, his fingernails torn and bleeding, he couldn’t have been much younger than 13. Heechul’s stomach turned as the boy crawled away from them, his right leg missing below the knee leaving a trail of congealed blood in his path.
“The door” Heechul swallowed as he fought the need to gag “I chained the door earlier but it looks like they overpowered it” he whispered as he saw the chain on the floor, still looped around the broken handle.
“I don’t think they know we’re here yet”
“The offices at the back should be safe, except for the door leading from the store there’s only one other way out and it has a metal gate on the inside”
“Okay” Hangeng whispered “We need to gather as much food as we can and then make our way to the back. Stay as quiet as possible”
Hangeng moved away from the wall almost silently, making his way down an aisle and picking up a basket that was lying on the floor. He picked what food he could off the almost empty shelve as Heechul sat watching the increasing number of the undead shuffle about the garden centre.
When Hangeng’s basket was filled with none perishable food, cans of food, crackers and biscuits as well as bottled water, he left it by the back door and made his way over to Heechul.
“Hey, I can’t do this on my own a little help would be nice” he smiled and Heechul nodded, pushing himself to his feet.
“What do we need?”
“Take this basket and fill it with bottled water, I’ll get more food. We need to hurry, it won’t be long before they figure out we’re here”
Heechul nodded and took the basket from Hangeng’s grasp, smiling when their fingers brushed slightly. He made his way down a separate aisle, picking up any size bottle of water he could find and throwing them into the basket before heading towards the door. As he approached the end of the aisle his feet were taken out from beneath him as he stepped on wet patch on the floor, he went crashing to the floor sending the basket sliding in front of him and into a wine rack.
Hangeng heard the smash just a couple of aisles away. Dropping his own basket he took off in a run towards Heechul. He was laying face down on the floor, his basket overturned at the bottom of a wine rack next to multiple broken bottles.
“What happened?”
“I fell… I think there’s water on the floor, I couldn’t see it was too dark” Heechul pouted as he pushed himself to his knees.
“Heechul . . . that’s not water” Hangeng mumbled as he saw the large red patch on Heechul’s t-shirt. “Come on leave the bottles we’ll come back for them later, let’s get you cleaned up before…” the two of them froze at the sound of glass shattering as the undead piled out of the garden centre and into the large open space of the store.
“Shit they heard everything” Hangeng hissed as he grabbed Heechul’s hand and ran for the door “Run!”
They kicked open the door to the staff section of the store, pushing the basket of food and water through as they entered and closing the door behind them just in time as the increasing horde closed in on them.
“That was too close” Heechul panted against the door as Hangeng pushed over a filing cabinet, wedging it behind the door and keeping it closed. The two of them gathered anything they could to make sure the door stayed shut, chairs, tables, as well as a larger filling cabinet that closed the gap, making it almost impossible for the door to be opened. Hangeng sighed as he leaned against the wall, his knees giving out underneath him causing him to slide to the floor.
“We should be safe for now”
