So part of my goal in association with taking time away from science is to develop my photography. I've learned a lot in the past year, but I'm hoping I can learn more and develop it into income (besides partnering with Nik for wedding photography). So I finally started uploading stuff to Flickr to hopefully get people's reactions and comments

Woohoo, flickrtime! I suggest you start getting involved in communities--post your pictures to the group and also comment on as many pictures as possible. Give other people attention, and they'll pay you back in kind. Obviously you're plenty internet savvy, but if you have any questions for someone who spends waaaaaaaay too much time on Flickr, you know how to reach me :)
