Yeah Ryan, you can't trust the casual numbers on there. I got an email saying that because my UPT slot is more than 180 days past the end of leave, I need to pick a base. If your date is before that, you don't get casual. They didn't discriminate between who has what start date, and had everyone with a slot pick. Also, they are supposedly making people with like 190 days between their start date and end of leave go casual at their UPT base. So if you didn't get an email saying you were 180 days past leave, you probably won't get casual (as explained to me by mine AOC).

Number 15, and there's 16 slots...that looks promising. Of course, since this all goes into a linear program, and the linear program doesn't just go down the line on order of merit giving each person their first choice until their first choice isn't available...it tries to sort of maximize overall happiness, preventing the dead last person from getting absolutely nothing...yeah, there's that chance you'll get something else. I'm routing for you though.

I'm not threatening any of your casual choices, anyway, since I'm in a totally different pool. I did put Eglin as one of my choices though. None of the others were on my list of possibilities even.

I don't get casual, no. That's what I meant by "I'm in a totally different pool." Sorry, I didn't say that clearly enough.

The closest thing to casual that I could get is Diversity Recruiting...I'm applying to do that, I think it would be a really cool opportunity and I wouldn't particularly mind staying at USAFA another year, as long as I don't have to live in the dorms.

Well, with my nav slot and my exemption for pilot still going through, I do not currently have a start date or any way to put in my casual choice. When my exemption goes through and I get a start date and hopefully some casual time, I'll be getting the bottom of the barrell for casual bases, woo hoo for Vinny yet again:( <--Notice a trend here?

I like your logic for choosing your casual base - mine's the same. Your top 3 look like my top 3 if I were to have a choice in casual now. Some of my 05 buddies had Nellis and had a blast so I'm hoping I can get casual there too:)
