I take back my previous analysis of New Moon.
While it was not as good as Twilight, in my humble opinion, here's a quick think of it.
I enjoyed Twilight because it explored the depth of the feelings between Bella and Edward. It was romantic. It was dangerous. It was forbidden love. It was that crazy romance that every girl dreams of at least once. I mean, it was an amazing book.
And I read chapter one of the sequel online, and was ready for book two. Edward was going to do the deed, turn Bella, and they were going to get somewhere. There was going to be no more *kiss* *bloodlust* I really want to kill you, we'd better stop.
They were going to fall in love and be together without worrying. It was going to be hopelessly romantic.
And I was going to sigh and cry and be happy.
Only a chapter into the book Edward told Bella he didn't love her any more and left. And she shut down. And I knew why he left. I got that, and I appreciated it, and I knew he'd be back. And I really enjoyed how for half a dozen pages the author just printed the name of the month in the middle of the page, to show the passage of time, and how Bella shut down. That really conveyed how she was taking it.
And then, Bella started to move on... She was still in love with Edward, but she was making room for someone else. And as much as I just KNEW Edward HAD to come back, it was over halfway into the book... and I was freaking out. Hence my last post.
I was begining to hate the author. How could she betray her beloved Edward? TT______TT Was I doomed to spend the rest of my days reading fanfics to get my EdwardxBella quota filled? Ugh.
Then, an amazing thing happened.
Edward tried to kill himself in the last, what, hundred, two hundred pages? I almost laugh thinking about it. It was the most unintelligent way to bring him back in, yet the best. It was really romantic... Anyway.
Bella came and saved him, and they got back together. And they're going to get married and he's going to turn her. Maybe.
Only the book ended in a cliffhanger.
So I've started my booklust for the next one.
I want it. Now.
TT____TT
Cut to remove all chance of spoilerings for those of you who haven't read it.
I bought this book yesterday evening, and I finished it this morning. Plus I went to church. And I had a long convo with Nic. This was some serious lust going on here.
