Opening Scene

So, I need a good opening scene for Compassion. I think the first scene is going to be of Emily and Chase meeting - back in the early 1800s. I'm just trying to find a good way to mix the two classes. I've got various new scenes written out, and all I need is a good eye catching start to make this romp through time work

yeah it's a little odd when books change corse mid stream... my fic that I am trying to edit did that... ah well
