Really enjoyed this sequel!!! Now I really want to see what happens during the younger counterparts' visit! They definitely need to find out about kirk/spock!!! LOL.
I loved "Start Infinity Again," and this is such a satisfying sequel. As with the first time I read it, I cried when Jim was transported to the Enterprise to find Spock was dead, and also when he visited the realiity where Spock had been left without Jim. The idea of one without the other is heartbreaking, and I adore that you envisioned a universe where they can be together happily. I also liked that Sybok was redeemed, that he can be accepted in this universe and play an integral role helping his people. I'm a sap -- I won't lie when I say my favorite element was simply seeing Jim and Spock older, happy, still in love, and able to work with each other just as effectively as they always did in TOS to solve a problem.
(I second what Anon said -- I would love to read what happens when the young Kirk and Spock visit, and what their reaction is to finding out they're married in another universe!)
Thank you for the lovely comment, and thank you again so so much for betaing. I am definitely much more satisfied with this version!
(I do actually have a whole 'nother technically-finished chapter fic where nu!K/S find out, but I don't know if it'll ever see the light of day. This series was also meant to follow nu!K/S getting closer and falling in love themselves, and the next story, where nu!K/S find out about their counterparts, is the first one that intersects the two Ks&Ss since Start Infinity Again. But that story has backstory for nu!K/S that I haven't written yet and might not write at all, and I've promised myself that I won't post any stories I haven't finished, including stories that can't stand on their own. So for nu!K/S finding out, I might end up adapting the revelation as an epilogue for this or something, or I might leave it for readers to imagine. :p)
I really, really enjoyed this. Especially I liked that you included Sybok. And a "villain" on the vulcan high-council? That's very original - it's the first time I've ever seen this.
Can I third the request for a sequel/aside about new-Kirk and -Spock finding out about the marriage? I really like your universe - anything more would be greatly appreciated.
I'm so glad you enjoyed it, and that Start Infinity Again is your favorite Generations fix-it! I enjoyed getting the chance to work with Sybok and how he might turn out in a new universe, and trying to deal with what the Vulcans are doing. I'm glad you put "villain" in quotes, because that's really how I see Kopek -- he's the antagonist, but he's definitely meant to be sympathetic.
We'll see how any further stories in this universe go! I'm not closing the possibility down, but if any do come, it probably won't be soon. :p

Well, I will cross my fingers that you will one day write that epilogue. I'd love to read it!
