I've been vaguely aware of the road trip that Oprah took this summer and has been showing in bits on her show recently. "Vaguely aware" in that I've seen promos for it and I saw something online about her pumping her own gas for the first time in 20-odd years during the trip. Wow, so I guess that motel is worse than the tepee motel that Oprah didn't seem particularly fond of in the ten seconds I saw of the replay that they were showing on my ABC affiliate one day at 1 a.m.

Oprah in Lamar. If there's one thing my old hometown can do, it's leave a bad impression. Something tells me that the locals shouldn't be too upset and the damage done, but the overall view of Colorado as a whole was probably damaged. Luckily, I doubt many people believe she was even in Colorado because there weren't any skiers in any of those shots.
