When I asked them about it, they said he'd been wrong and didn't actually have a Chinese accent, he'd just said that because he couldn't think of a better way to describe being from China or some shit. I was like, what? OK then... I smell bullshit.
(Also, using 'gay' as derogatory = not cool, dude.)
sorry. julian is gay himself and doesnt seem to know what the word 'filter' means. ill remind him in the future not to use that word like that. or the other one he uses so very often. (he's kind of a dick. sorry.)
I'm laughing because I just saw the post, and I could see how much you were just bullshitting being polite with it XD Seems like people acquire system members with different nationalities without any regards to how the nationality actually IS to up their 'cool' factor. Here, we kind of all just talk english, even if most members are japanese (anime does that), because it's the only language the brain actually knows.
HAHAHA. I TRIED SO HARD TO HIDE MY INTERNAL FRUSTRATION. I think they bought it...??
Yeah, talking only languages that the brain knows is fairly standard. Tbh I think even accents are fairly standard; we had a member once who spoke with a thick Italian accent. That *said*, he didn't speak at all whilst fronting until I made the effort to listen to a lot of Italian people and learn how to mimic their accent properly. Since I'd learnt how to do it, it meant it was stored in the brain, so he could finally talk as close to his natural voice as possible - but I really made sure we wouldn't horrifically offend anybody by doing some kind of "it's-a me, Mario!" type thing.
I doubt this system went through the same effort, so I'm instantly thinking "horrifically offensive and stereotypical accent, coming right up!" Not to mention the whole, 'Chinese paper dragon' thing, which I'm sure is the most stereotypical Chinese object I've ever heard of, short of being a pair of sentient chopsticks.
