WHY HELLO THAR

Jan 18, 2010 22:56

Today I have learned that a) fandom is even more awesome than I could have believed (between ontd_ai, ontd_startrek and SPN fandom, we've managed to raise $54,949 for Haiti so far - holy shit); b) my front door lock is apparently ineffective against fahye; and c) you haven't lived until a child has jumped out of nowhere, yelled wildly and launched a deck of cards at your ( Read more... )

I thoroughly approve of your three movies.

OMG ITALIAN PIZZA. I can't eat pizza here anymore, it's ruined for me forever. GTFO DOMINOES.

You're an Aussie! Awesome! :D

I am so glad. <3 It's actually been a looooong time since I last saw LOTR - I think I might be due a marathon session. XD

OMFG I KNOW, RIGHT? I have never met a pizza base like the Napoli ones, let alone the sauce. ;_____; You've been to Italy, then? Where did you go?

I love how fandom has affected how I watch the movies now, every five seconds I remember a gif or a video or a parody and giggle. Man they're good films!

They're so simple and yet BREATHTAKINGLY AMAZING. I have! I'm from an Italian family and I finally went this year, first to Sicily and then I spent 6 weeks with family I've never met (and who didn't speak English) in Torino xD Ohhh godd the FOOD. The GELATO! GAH *PINES*

Oh man I know. I think I'm also really irriating to watch them with, because as much as I try not to I'll be all "that's where Dom got the splinter in his foot!" and "Simon Pegg ad-libbed that line!" all the time, which kind of ruins the suspension of disbelief. D:

LAKShlaKSLAKSJALDKN ALSJdhakjdh ASF SICILY.

SICILY.

Words cannot describe how beautiful that place is. I never made it to Torino, though. That's the problem with travel - no matter how long you go for, you still haven't seen all that the country has to offer. :S

Yes! Steampunk! That reminds me that I need to work on revising my novel.

In the next few years, while I'm in Japan, I'm totally going to try to make it to Angkor Wat. It's pretty high on my list of "Must see while in this part of the world."

You're so well traveled compared to me. I'm jealous. :-D

OH I remember seeing you mention that - a trilogy, yeah? I am IN AWE. I'll have to be sure to post pictures when the time comes, we are SO LOOKING FORWARD TO IT. We have...I think five people? For an airship crew. I have dibs on Captain. ;)

I've only been to Europe, really - I've seen nothing of the Americas or Africa, and barely anything in Asia. But there's so much I WANT to see. Maybe one day we'll meet up to see Angkor...it looks amazing, and so surreal.

Well, I guess it could be a trilogy--right now I just want an ending that isn't rushed!

I would love to see pictures of steampunk costumes! I so wanted to do one for Halloween this year, but I thought of the idea too late to order anything from the States to get it shipped to Japan.

While I'm living in Japan, I want to visit as much as I can over here--Korea, Thailand, Cambodia, China... It will also be a shorter plane ride to NZ/Australia from here than it would be from the States. :-)

Oh, also, I'm thinking about applying at eliteofthefleet Good idea? I'm in whedonland and love it, but wish there were more competitions. I only work part time, so I have loads of free time to fill up with things. :-)

DO IT DO IT DO IT

There are three competitions running RIGHT NOW. Though the backlog in apps means you probably wouldn't see them, but the point being that they run ALL THE TIME. And they're so varied, so you can either utilise the talents you have or branch out and try new things. <3

And don't be nervous about the app! So long as you expand on your answers (like, avoid one sentence answers) and don't do an obvious push for a particular track, you'll be totally fine. :D

I was attempting to go with the 'words are not always necessary' theme, but I think I am failing to convey my magical ability to open your door.

Sometimes they are not necessary...other times they really really are. :P
