Another Makeup Post!
So, this is a continuation of
this post.
Mehron Palettes look like this:
I own the bottom two, and want to get the top one when I have the moneys.
The 120 Palette, for those who don't know, looks like this:
On the whole, I think this palette is pretty crap; but it's good when paired with the Mehron. The Mehron tends to be sticky, so it can really grab onto the chunks of shimmer. I have tried this with both Urban Decay's Primer Potion and Too Faced Shadow insurance and it can get pretty messy.
Maybe I can get my hands on the 88 Satin Palette (stop calling it Matte, people!) or the 96 Satin Palette. Those colors are supposed to be more pigmented and less soft.
Yellow+Orange Base
Orange Base
This was supposed to be a sunset, but it looks like "fire." I guess it's the same thing, really. Maybe I'll do a "sunset series" and use pinks, purples, and blues as well as the typical "sunset colors."
Green Base
White Base
These last two were meant to be just experiments, but they turned out looking elemental. :/
I think it's maybe the shade of green looks too cartoon-like. I do like, however, that you can really see the difference between the cool and warm-tones.
Rastafari
I absolutely despise the Rastafari movement, but the colors are really nice together. After a while, I began hating how this looked on me, especially because the crease started looking muddy. I just need more blending tools-- thats the problem with water-based media, you need a different brush for every color. With dry products, you can use the same brush for the whole look. Oh, well, I'm still learning.
Red Smoke
Another experiment. I think the light color on the bottom looks a little goofy on me. I've heard of some people doing it to make their eyes bigger. Maybe I need to foil it, hmm.
Black Base
Brown Base
This shows that the base by itself can look a little dimensionless. I tried contouring with a gold-based cream-colored shadow, and a brown in the crease. This looks too matte, though.
Red-Toned Brown
This is basically the same thing as above, but if you layer a red-toned brown on top, the red-tones really pop because the base eats up most of the brown.
Brown Smoke
Same thing as mentioned above, smoked out a bit more. Since this brown is still a little light, I like how it makes my eyes look darker.
