Love Plus Entry 1

Last night, my new girlfriend Rinko confessed her feelings to me. Of course, I couldn't help but respond in kind. After all, I had had feelings for her for quite a while now. I was a wee bit surprised she took the initiative though. It was really refreshing to not have to be the one to tell her. Kind of embarrassing. Heh ( Read more... )

Just don't spring "the pile driver" on her until the 3rd date at least.

I am going to be sorely disappointed if you don't end up killing her with a swordfish and running away with her step-mother.

Interesting. It does sound like this game has some engaging content (I would definitely have gone for Rinko as well.) Let me know if Phase II has as much appeal.

On a more general level, I can't figure out whether I think the (apparent) abundance of dating sims in Japan is a good thing, because it gives people a chance to practice/make mistakes, or if it distracts people from focusing on the real world. I guess it's pretty hard to tell, given that I don't think I know many folks who play them personally.

Anyway, looking forward to your next update.

The problem is that the average 'dating game' isn't much of a game at all actually. Most of them are visual novels that offer the player very few choices altogether. Generally you don't find a lot of micro-management or real time aspects. I guess that's part of what separates Love Plus from the dearth of porn/visual novels: it is actually designed to feel like you're dating someone.

I'll be updating later today.
