Shanghai Trip

Went on a tour to Shanghai last week with nobody nobody but Nicho~!

To cut our long journey short,

I'm just going to post some pictures and captions.

Day 1 to Day 3

Arrived at Shanghai Pudong Airport. Boarded the tour bus to Hang Zhou. 3 hours drive!

<

"the view in Hang Zhou is really nice!" said Nic the giant

The hotel we stayed in that night was incredibly creepy!! It look like one of those haunted ones where zombies would suddenly crawl out from under the bed and things go bump at night!

Nico was so frighten of the bathroom! So he bathed with the bathroom door open while I crawled under the bed with a holy bible to check for zombies... true story!

...in the end there was no zombies.
but I still didn't get much sleep that night because Nicholas snores like HARVEY DAVIDSON.

the next day we headed for Shanghai after lunch. Another 3 hours drive!
Nanjing Road after dinner, where we bought exclusive limited edition Expo Passport~

Day 4 to Day 6

WORLD EXPO

epic

we spent the first day conquering Puxi (zone D and E) and the other 2 in Pudong (zone A, B, and C)

mostly we cheated our way in by pretending to have made reservations/VIP. This actually worked for China Aviation Pavilion, where we got a direct entry plus free gifts, when the actual waiting line surpassed 3 hours. LOL!! wth man?!

the highlight of the 3rd day was getting into China Pavilion after queuing for nearly 2 hours despite on VIP pass(provided by our tour)!!

yes we WERE a part of that crowd!!
JUST LOOK AT ALL THOSE PEOPLE ADF;ADJSFLASJDFLS!!!

in all, we covered a total of 20+ country pavilions (including German-chinese house, China, Australia, France, Switzerland, Spain, Belgium-Eu, Norway, Denmark, Finland etc.)

My only regret is not being able to visit Germany, Saudi Arabia, Japan and Korea due to lack of time T_T

want to know the secret that kept Nicholas going from one pavilion to another?

FOOD

some country's restaurants provide direct access to their pavilions after eating there. *wink wink

We ate anything and everything we came across without the supervision of parents (WIN). Including Denmark's Smørrebrød, Canada's traditional Poutine, Norway's many types of salmon and fish, and Switzerland's special cheese and rice!

and what better things to do after a good meal?

DRINK

we tasted every beer from most of the pavilions that we visited and were jolly high the whole time! we even tried the free beer/red wine/white wine on the airplane, but that's another story.
one of the strongest alcoholic drink we tried was LINIE at Norway, which consisted of pure, concentrated 48% alcohol!
one drip would send your throat and esophagus burning!!

Undeniable, food in the expo was freakishly expensive!!

While taking photos outside Germany's Pavilion, we came across this German bar that sold German Beer and Sausages at the price of RMB 45 and RMB 49.
That's roughly rm47 for a cup of beer and a single sausage.

INSANE RIGHT?
Where else in the world can you find beer and sausages at such absurd price?!?

so we bought both.

at the end of the day, we came to the conclusion that the most delicious food at 2010 Shanghai World Expo is....

THAT'S RIGHT! BELIEVE IT.

some other things we did to amuse ourselves.

Day 7 (last day)
packed out bags and boarded the plane back to Malaysia

and our trip was over, as suddenly as it had started.

and we are left with nothing but beautiful memories :)
