What this is not: a post about how I am so much smarter or better or wiser than 'those' christians. I don't have all the answers. I'm not better, or smarter, or more spiritual. I'm just a guy, and Jesus died and was resurrected for forgiveness of sins and new life

As a former born again, fundamentalist, charismatic Christian, I really enjoyed your post. Now free from the crazy life of "American Christianity" where Jesus is a republican and hates rock music buy loves country music, I am so happy to be out of that rigid mindset.

I am encouraged as I walk thru my life now at just how many people like me have left the church. In fact, the American Christian church is really dying- which to me is a good thing. You see, I am closer in my walk with Jesus now that I have left the "teaching" of what is the "right" Jesus to follow. That fact is that the bible says "The kingdom of Heaven is WITHIN". It's not OUT there. It's in our hearts. Thank you Jesus, I'm free at last, free at last.

Glad to hear you laugh at the sillyness but not miss the authentic parts of charismatic expressions of faith. I am not a charismatic but a missionary who enjoys working with people from difference backgrounds within Christianity.
