I definitely like reading RP ramblings! Although on the subject of what Mio's struggling with right now, I suspect I'm not going to be able to give much intelligent response through the back of my head making incoherent unhappy noises. :P
Although this:
Sharing her feelings and experiences psychically is something that's almost as natural as breathing to her
is definitely relevant to Iris' interests, inasmuch as, in any world, she's always quite happy to do that for people, to sit and commune with them psychically in order to better understand. Even if it's painful for her.

Jack will probably need to do more poking at Mio to determine exact things. Specifically, if her need to inflict trauma is "mechanical" or psychological - that is, if it's required by/an immutable fact of the way her psychic powers work, or if it's the only option available to her because it's the only option she can grasp/grok/execute, psychologically. If it's mechanical, then really, the only way he can see to move forward is to get a mind architect in there to change the structure or to provide a sink for the outlash. Of those two, not gonna lie, he'd prefer the first option, both because it's more pleasant for him and because it's less vulnerable to failure based on unforeseen events, like him getting eaten by the Kashtta or greenrifted or something
