Nerd rage. I am so sick of people using the excuse "You don't understand the corporate world" when describing social snafus in non-work-related situations. I do understand the corporate world, I also fucking understand that in an arcade playing BlazBlue with your close friends is not a fucking corporate situation!!! I don't understand when someone might use "I don't understand the corporate world" improperly. Really, this post totally baffles me.

According to a certain section of my friends who I wont name for the sake of avoiding drama (and yes its more than one person) "normal" people when meeting new people apply themselves to this pattern of etiquette that mirrors the corporate world. This pattern, as far as I see, involves many backhanded statements and attempts to "back down" from an argument by having the last word, and then accusing the second party of being confrontational if they try to continue the discussion past your last word ( ... )

Dude, get new friends. People who can't shift gears from the corporate world aren't worth hanging out with.

Tell them you can't understand why anyone would want to be a part of the corporate world :)

God I really don't... I mean I have an office, but I couldn't imagine having an office where you couldn't go in to work pantsless.

Amen to that.

Also, being able to make a (comfortable) living outside of the corporate environment makes you the envy of all those soulless yuppie fuckbags. I realized this when I started getting piercings and dying my hair; they're status symbols that say "haha I get to have freedom and you don't"

People who think corporate behavior is appropriate for every social situation should only mingle with other corporate people...IE other people they work with.

If they hang out with other people, leave the corporate shit at the corporation.

This is my view :)
