I am of the opinion that you need a new laptop, 'cause damn. It's not worth it to just sink more money into hard drives that will just get ruined after a year, or to take a chance on a machine that has the possibility of failing you when you're trying to get your homework done (this is the big thing for me right here because unreliable machines are the shittiest things in the world; being someone who has to deal with this obstacle every day, trust me on that). It will just cost you more time and make you frustrated. Having a machine that is more efficient and stable, and that allows you to be more efficient with your homework, will definitely make your life easier. I guess you need to ask yourself how long you can put up with things until you reach the point where your current machine just isn't going to cut it anymore, and see where your money is at at that point ( ... )

Spend the money on SHOTS SHOTS SHOTS, etc...

But srsly, I agree with mythos in that it's a question of how long it'd take you to earn that kind of scratch back. I'd say they're about equally as important in the long run but perhaps a new car edges it out as 4 drivers, multiple jobs and 1 car is a terrible, terrible arrangement.
