Title: High Expectance[1/3]
Pairing: ReitaxRuki
Band: Gazette
Rated: PG (cuz I can’t seem to write any higher…yet.)
Genre: Romance/Humor/Very slight angst (It's all in Ruki's head XD)
Comment: Tanjoubi Omedetou, Ruki!!! *-*
Oh! Oh! And the Gazette’s diary…Reita wrote a birthday greeting to Ruki XDD <3<3<3 I’ve been told he wrote it around 12:45 in the morning. XDDD
And by the way...this fikku...is all totally random. Completely and utterly random. Just to warn you. ^^
Summary: Ruki just expects too much on his birthday. (sucky summary, I know u.u;;)
Lying leisurely on the plush couch one particular morning, Ruki glanced dully at the ceiling.
There’s nothing…to do.
Turning his head slightly, he looked around. No one’s around or anything. He was basically alone in his apartment…on his birthday…doing absolutely nothing.
Okay, so what if it was his birthday today? It only means one year older. Holy crap, he’s a year older.
…What to do now?
Frowning slightly, the vocalist then sat up.
It was kind of weird actually. He somewhat expected his band members to come by but…
Wait…he shouldn’t be expecting anyone to come. Geez, this is so confusing…
Sighing deeply, Ruki stood up and picked a jacket from the table before heading out for a walk to Reita’s apartment.
--
“What? He’s not here?”
“Hey, where did he go?”
“How would I know, Uruha?”
“Well…I thought you’d might…”
“Okay, don’t pick a fight or anything, you two. We need to look for Ruki-kun.”
“But how would we know where he is? Huh, Kai-kun?”
“Don’t worry. We just need to look in the obvious places.”
“…And where’d that might be?”
“Hm…there’s…the practice room…”
“…I guess we’ll go try there first. After that, let’s go to Reita’s place.”
“What?! Why my place?”
“Weeeellll, Reita-kun…your apartment is the best place to party.”
“…Uruha…”
“Yes, Reita-kuuuuun??”
“Shut your mouth and let’s get going.”
“Hai, Okaa-san<3”
“…”
“Uh…Uruha-kun?”
“What is it, Aoi-kun?”
“You’d better run.”
“Ah…right.”
“…Well?”
“Okay…three, …two,…one….AHHHHHHHHH!!!!”
“Come on, Kai-kun! We don’t want to lose them!”
“Ah…hai, hai. Oh wait, Aoi-kun.”
“Eh? Why?”
“Well…since we’re in Ruki-kun’s home…let’s do some decorating.”
“Hmm….good idea.”
--
Ruki knocked on the door for the third time. He was certain Reita would be home around this time. He wondered why no one was home.
Giving up, he brought out his small chain of keys. Everyone in the band had extra keys to each of their apartment so this became quite useful in Ruki’s situation. When he found the right key, the vocalist unlocked the door to Reita’s apartment and entered.
Just as he expected. The room was dark and that meant…Reita’s not home. Just where the hell did he go?
Switching on the lights, he found something utterly surprising.
Placed on the table were two plates, two candles, and a small vase of flowers (Ruki was sure it was fake but then again maybe not) on the center. It was simple…but quite lovely.
Reita was trying to make dinner for his birthday? He never thought he’d be romantic as to something like this. Checking his watch, Ruki noted that it was barely passed noon.
Shrugging to himself, he decided to head out for a while. Too bad Reita wasn’t here…
--
Walking back to his apartment, Ruki stared down,…not noticing two particular blondes heading his way.
“Uruha! Come back here right now!!”
“But I don’t wanna!!!”
Huh?
He quickly glanced up only to find himself knocked out to the ground.
“Ack! I’m so sorry! I-Ruki-kun! Wahhh! We found you!” Uruha sat up and grinned victoriously.
“Yes, and I’m nearly dying because of you. Get off me.” The vocalist was red-faced due to his unfortunate landing and extra weight right above him.
“Ah, gomen. Didn’t expect to crash into you.”
“Yeah,…didn’t expect that either.” Reita came by, picking up the guitarist by the arm before extending out a hand to the fallen vocalist. Ruki gratefully accepted as Aoi and Kai soon came running afterwards. “Now, thanks to you, I finally captured Uruha.”
“Uh…where were you doing?”
“Oh…” The bassist glared down at Uruha, who cringed. “Nothing much…Uruha just did something that pissed me off.”
“Which is?” Ruki asked.
“I called him ‘Okaa-san’” The blonde piped in reply.
Suddenly, the vocalist laughed hard. “O-Okaa-san?? Is that right?” He continued laughing. The bassist stared at him reproachfully and muttered, “It’s not funny.”
“Eheheheh….gomen, Reita-kun….ne…what are you guys doing here anyways?”
“Ah! That’s right. We went to your apartment but you weren’t there! And so, we’ve decided to look for you!” Kai pointed out, smiling.
“Heh? What for?” the vocalist asked questioningly.
“Well….for a reason or another…” Aoi replied slowly. “But let’s go back to your apartment.”
“But why?” Ruki asked.
“You asked too many question. Just go.” Kai gestured.
“Agh…fine. Fine. Just…don’t push me, Kai-kun!”
--
As the band went off to Ruki’s apartment, Aoi suddenly blocked the vocalist’s eyesight with both hands and went to the opened door held out by Kai. Reita and Uruha had no idea what’s going on though but they went along unknowingly.
“Okay…let’s start off with….” Aoi released his hands. “Tanjoubi Omedetou, Ruki-kun!”
Blinking repeatedly, Ruki stared. “God, what have you done to my home?!”
Aoi snorted and replied, “It’s just temporary. The streamers comes off easily…I think. And we have lots of food thanks to Kai-kun.”
“That’s right…and now, let’s go celebrate Ruki-kun’s birthday.” Kai smiled broadly as everyone slowly nodded in agreement.
Reita glanced down at the vocalist, who, in turn, glanced back. “So…what do you say…to…a dinner at my apartment?”
Ruki grinned. “I thought you’d never ask.”
