Chapter 2 Miku woke up groggy and with a killer headache. He groaned softly as he shifted around the bed, his hand sifted through blondish brown locks and his eyes barely open. Then he realized there was something thick and rough wrapped tightly around his forehead. He made a slight noise and frowned. What could that be?
"Miku! You're awake!" an oddly familiar voice spoke up as he approached his bed. Who? That voice was too light and high to be Kanon's so it must be Teruki. God, his headache wasn't getting any better.
"Teruki...what are you doing in my room...?" He asked, his voice soft and slightly cracked.
"Miku...this isn't your room. We're in the hospital." The drummer explained, worriedly.
The vocalist was confused. The hospital? He couldn't think of any reason why they would be in a hospital. It doesn't make any sense. He forced his eyes to open further and glanced over the room they were in. All he could see was the ivory color of the walls, the long white curtains casted halfway around his bed, and the machines beside him. His gaze then shifted over to the iv needle in his arm, the thin white blanket that draped over his bottom half, and the hospital top he was forced to wear. Indeed, he was in the hospital. He shut his eyes tight and groaned once more. "...You're kidding, right? Why would I be in a hospital?"
Teruki paused for a moment. He doesn't know how to explain the situation to Miku. Scratching his head as he turned away, he quietly replied, "Cause Kanon got into a car accident last night. You were...close by with a head injury. Someone found you two by coincidence and called the ambulance. You were lucky but we're still waiting for Kanon. He's...he's still in surgery."
Miku's eyes grew wide in shock as he tried to assimlate everything that Teruki said. Car...accident?
"K...Kanon..." Suddenly, he sat up and tried to get off the bed.
The drummer noticed and firmly pushed him back. "Stop, Miku! You're still injured!" But the other wouldn't give up and he struggled against Teruki's grip. "Kanon! Teruki, let me go! I want to see Kanon!"
"Miku!" The drummer shook his arms, causing the other to stare with wide eyes and mouth agape. Teruki could see many emotions flickered through those dark orbs. Shock, pain, disbelief...his heart had already broken by the fact that two of his bandmates are injured and one was going through surgery. Seeing Miku like this made it worsen. "Kanon...Kanon will be alright....okay? Just believe in him. He's not going to die that easily."
The vocalist blinked as tears started to well up. He glanced down and whispered, almost inaudibly, "It's...my fault that he's like that, right?"
Teruki's brow furrowed together with confusion. "What do you mean?"
"I remember hearing tires screeching...and I think I remember something else." He shut his eyes tight, causing the tears to fall down his cheeks. "I think Kanon pushed me out the way. If...If I wasn't drunk then," He glanced up at the brunette, slightly pained. "none of this would've happen. None...I..."
The drummer wrapped his arms tightly around him. His lips tugged into a sad frown as he glanced down to the shaking vocalist. Why would the other think that? It wasn't his fault that they went to such ordeal. If anything, he'd blamed the driver who caused this whole mess.
Miku clutched Teruki's shirt and sobbed. He wished it all had been a dream. A terrible dream. But this was reality. He didn't know what to do if Kanon died and left him alone. His heart felt crushed by the thought.
"Teruki" he began, his voice heavy with emotions. "when...do you think they'll be done...with the surgery...?"
The drummer shook his head slowly, uncertain. "I don't know, Miku...I just don't know."
Suddenly, Yuuki burst into the room and quickly said, "Teruki! The doctors came out from the ER!" He then noticed Miku, awake and holding onto the drummer like a lifeline. "Miku, you're awake! Are you feeling alright?"
"I'm fine. Yuuki, you said they're done? With the surgery?" the vocalist asked, his voice small but hopeful.
"Yeah, they said Kanon barely made it alive. Takuya's with him when they pulled him to a vacant room." The keyboardist announced, smiling.
Teruki sighed with utter relief. 'He's alive...Kanon's alive...!'
"Can we go see him?" Miku asked, his worried eyes never left the blonde.
Teruki intercepted almost immediately. "No. You need your rest, Miku. You can visit him after."
"But Teruki...I want to see Kanon. I don't want to be separated from him." The other pouted, sad puppy eyes aimed his way. The drummer sighed again.
"Don't worry, you'll see him soon enough." He pushed the vocalist back to the bed. "Now sleep."
"But-"
"Sleep. Okay?"
Miku paused, still pouting. "...Fine. But wake me up if Kanon's awake."
Teruki smiled reassuringly. "Alright."
The vocalist nodded before shifting around the bed for a more comfortable position and smiled widely.
Kanon survived after all.

Takuya glanced sadly over the bassist's prone body. He was so relieved that the other managed to survived the horrible accident. Though, he was alive, the surgeon came up to him with yet another terrible news. Kanon went into a coma. A minor one, but a coma nonetheless. He wondered how long would he stayed this way.
He brushed away the stray dark locks that covered over the bassist's eyes. Miku and the others wouldn't like the news he was going to give.
He hoped everything would be alright in the end.
To be continued.
