Busy, Busy day

Today was so busy! I finally got Tora-chan's tank at better chemical levels and went out and got more barbs so she wouldn't be lonely. Now there's a nice little school of 6 darting around the tank. I want to get some more soon but I don't know when. I think maybe sometime next week ( Read more... )

Well, what can I say? Yamato is a great last name. :)

Would you like me to show you? I've figured out a few tricks to bake in the microwave instead of an oven.

Well, what makes it especially funny is that the class is about the Jōmon, Yayoi, and Yamato time periods.

Bake? How in the world? If you don't mind, I would greatly appreciate that, Yamato-senpai.

All the better!

And sure, I'll show you if you don't mind coming over here. I have a setup that makes it easy for me to cook.

That's admirable. I wish I knew enough about cooking to feel guilty about eating out. How did you learn?

Well, at home, it's been just Grandma, dad, and my older brother for the last couple of years. Grandma works as a teacher/tennis coach, dad is a manager at an accounting firm, and Hiroki-nii isn't allowed to touch the oven. Someone had to learn to cook. Besides, mom had already been teaching me before she left.

What a lot of weight to carry on such slender shoulders. You should be very proud of yourself, Ryuuzaki-san.

It wasn't that big of a deal. A lot of times Hiroki-nii's girlfriend would come over and she taught me a lot of things. I think the only reason I'm not too worried about my family is because of her.

Toaster oven baking and stove top cooking is interesting. I wonder if we can make mini loaves of bread in it?

We can always try. The worst that can happen is that we'd fail. Oh, and Yamato-senpai has offered to teach me a couple of his tricks for dorm cooking so maybe you can come along or I can teach you them.

We shall conquer the small, make-do kitchen.

Sometimes you have to make mistakes. It's how we learn. I'd like to come along if it's alright with Yamato-san.

We'll make a mess doing so, but it'll be fun!

It's way too easy to resort to take-out, sadly enough.

I know but I'm determined to learn to cook. Once I get semi-decent at it, maybe you and a couple others can come over or something.

Not a problem and besides, it gives me a goal to work towards.
