hehe, bednyj Jesus:) i always feel so bad when people try to disprove what's in mind mind a fable:)
I schemed through a Trillion $$ Meltdown. it's interesting. however, since i work in the epicenter of this mess, it wasn't terribly new:)
by the same token i highly recommend The Ascent of Money by Niall Ferguson - another one of his brilliant books (and he was my professor in grad school; i had a mad crush on the dude)

Jesus is viewed by historians as a historical figure. The problem is that our main sources about him have a clear agenda (in fact, they have several different, oten conflicting agendas because they were written by different people).
So, the question for historian is what can be traced to the actual historical Jesus versus what was apparently distorted and invented by the early Christians (and the later ones).
I added Ascent of money to my wishlist :)
