I think it can't hurt to write American politicians. Honestly, I'd suggest writing to Kathleen Sebelius. One, because she fucking well rocks. Two, because as HHS Secretary, she will have influence over policy and the upcoming debate that looks to be gearing up on the matter (the anti-choice side is mobilizing and I caught the words 'Another Summer of Mercy' flipping websites yesterday, which CHILLS me).

You'd address her as Secretary Sebelius (I'm ordinarily not nit-picky, but please spell her name right). The address (from here: http://directory.psc.gov/os/51.html) is:

I'm so thankful that abortion is safe and legal in Canada.

And that we are fortunate to live in an area where it is easily accessible.
