I found myself looking at it like "hmm well I need moisturiser anyway so maybe I could get some of the anti ageing stuff..." then NO!!!! It's so easy to get sucked in.
That would burn me up too. Most of what is marketed towards women in the whole toiletry/personal care area is totally unnecessary. Cleansers are the ones that get my blood boiling. Most people don't even need foaming or "deep" cleansing items... if I didn't wear makeup I would rarely wash my face with anything other than water. Foaming action = increased oil = acne = looking for a new cleanser to deal with acne = horrible, horrible cycle of death. And for those that do need something extra, there are so many awful, unnecessary ingredients that only serve to continue their problems... it's so stupid

Interesting! I didn't know about the foaming action. I'm a scrub type of girl, I have a lightly exfoliating scrub then a nice light moisturizer. I bought some other creamy face stuff to use at Eds and realized that it leaves a film of gross on my face.
Most of these things don't even basically WORK which is the truly annoying part.
Heh, of course they don't work, they want you to have to keep buying it!
I'm sure foaming shit works for some people, but over-cleansing in general just adds to oil production. I actually tried doing oil cleansing for a while, which supposedly works better because "oil dissolves oil"... but it really didn't work for me (strange combo of breakouts and really dry skin. Yuck.) I know a lot of people who don't use shampoo though - same concept - if you stop overcleansing your scalp, it will stop overproducing oil. They just use baking soda and apple cider vinegar rinses every now and then.
