I have the solution to all of America's problems.

Seriously. Four words.

Ready?

Two Term Congressional Limits.

No more oligarchs, no more Strom Thurmonds, no more Ted Kennedys.

No more career politicians whose only goals are to stay in office.

If you can't get your policies in place in 12 years, guess what, you wasted your consituents' time.

Not a bad idea. I think that all these jerks do is maintain the status quo. Plus, it would maybe motivate them to work a little more um.. expeditiously? But, good luck getting that one to pass congress.

That appears to be the crux of the problem.

It's kinda on the order of trying to tell someone that thinks that he/she is never wrong, that he/she has that belief.

I think it is possible by one of two means:

State by state votes by the electorate to limit the terms of their own Congressional representatives.

or

A vast national vote, on the order of a Presidential election globally altering the term structure of Congress.

The first is the most likely to succeed.
