My only problem is: What is "valid evidence"? What I consider to be "valid evidence" may be completely different from Yahtzee here.

Also, guy doesn't need to make a video to show that his neighbor who believes in ghosts is a jackass.

Well yeah, Tanner, he doesn't need to make a vid to show that his ghost-believing neighbor is a jackass. I think that the point of it is that there is a death of wonder here. With the case of the lamp moving, it's a choice between "I am certain that the lamp moves because of a supernatural influence" and "Gee, that lamp is moving, let's investigate the cause and find a solution." One of those is based on a point of view that is locked into certainty, the other is curious and willing to grow.

I think that valid evidence would be multi-source confirmation and/or repeatability - continuing in the scientific vein. I had an English teacher in high school that had a banner up on the wall that was yellowed with age and was a maxim to all of his students: Your opinion is only as valid as the evidence you have to back it up.

Also, unrelated, I don't think Mr. Croshaw was involved in this vid, but the author most definitely is British. I'm sure you knew that, but I'm just sayin'.
