i have been feeding it once a week, varying between the several traps. that was the first cricket Tristan and i fed it, and by accident did not get the entire cricket into the trap as it should be- so we watched it die a gruesome death. the fly trap's enzymes dissolved its body before our eyes. it's my camera.
heh heh actually that plant died, mostly due to not being fed properly as you can see in the photo. if the prey is not entirely inside the trap, the digestive enzymes tend to leak and decompose the entire trap. however... i got a bigger and better venus fly trap shortly after that which i've had for a few months. but don't worry... because of the above information you are not in danger
