You know Kris and I sat down to watch the news together last night. I really don't know why I started to watch the news but I did. Anyway, before hand, he had spent the whole day with me and I was in a really good mood. Being in love does that to you, ya know? So anyway, we're watching the news, and the mood changes. I'm not all happy anymore, ( Read more... )

"I was talking to Kris about just packing up my explorer and shimming on down to the Alamodome but I told him I wouldn't know what to do with it from there. He brought up a good point consisting of that I'd have to be careful, because the people could fight over it, and that would just hurt me more...:'("

I'm assumeing you mean that people would attack and fight over your supplies? If you go volinteer ar any of the stations, weather the base or the alamodome, your most likley not even going to have any contact with the refugees. I think it's because they dont want people gawking all over them. There are people in charge of assigning jobs and there are jobs for everyone that goes. They are getting immense amounts of supplies and need help sorting them. I thought kind of the same thing, that i would see the refugees and give them some books and games i took, but it was a entirely different area and i shifted through lots supplies, which was still needed. anyhoo just letting you know. =)

we cant blame God for what is happening in the world around us, we can only blame ourselves for the evil we have brought into the world.

I don't believe it's God fault for making him be there, making his mom an alcoholic, and making him watch her die. BUT, I don't see why God doesn't do anything to help anything going on in our world. I mean fuck, millions of people in poverty die per day. Many abortions occur each day, killing babies. And violence is rampant everywhere, laying waste to another few hundred thousand lives a day I'm willing to bet. Why doesn't this all-powerful, omniscient, ever-wise being we call God do ANYTHING?

I used to call him father, but after finally realizing that he's just sitting back and letting all these horrors happen, It became very clear to me he's nothing like a father would be. God works in mysterious ways... haha I've heard that over and over. God's not working at all, and if he is, he's working in fucked up ways.

Anyway... anyone reading this, go out and help the people affected by this disaster. Red Cross, Salvation Army, doesn't matter. We the people have to help, because God sure isn't.

see thats why even though im a christian i can see why people pretend or try to blame or whatnot because i dont know how God can just LET all this stuff happen in the world. The bad stuff is what we created, but we are just people and some of the bad things you can't blame God obviously, but they are not our fault either. the age old question of "why do bad things happen to good people?"

I agree with ya'll. I dont see how God can sit back and watch...I don't see how he loves us so much but he watches us die in horror...i mean if miracles can happen why not to the people like katrina, or the war? i dunno..ugh.
