Warnings: Awful!English
Author's Notes: This is because I’ve been (and still am) sick. Lol. When I’m sick, my fics don’t make sense.

Summer was really suffocating in Korea, and probably everywhere else in the world. With the varying temperature in the afternoon and dead at night, Kiseop thought it was only inevitable that he fell sick.

With a tissue box under his arm and a piece of tissue in his hand, he blew his nose as quietly as he could and walked into the practice room.

“Hey, Kiseop.” Soohyun sneezed. “What’s with the tissue box?”

“I have flu.” Kiseop pouted sadly, sitting down next to Soohyun and putting on his best pitiful expression. “Bad flu.”

Soohyun sneezed once again, pushing Kiseop away from him. “Get away from me, I’m-I’m-”

Kiseop quickly took a new piece of tissue and covered Soohyun’s nose for him, which he immediately sneezed into. Giggling, Kiseop let Soohyun take the dirty tissue paper himself. “You’re sick too.”

Sighing in defeat, Soohyun nodded. “Yeah, I have a bad case of sore throat too. I couldn’t hit the usual high note without screaming…”

“I can’t tell~!” Kiseop sang, voice sounding horribly nasally. “Oh no, I sound bad.”

“My throat is actually really dry now, and when I drink water or eat, it hurts.” Soohyun yawned, lying down on the floor. “Why is it that the both of us are the earliest, when we’re probably the sickest?”

“You think something bad happened to them?” Kiseop made a horrified face, before shaking his head. “Nah, I don’t think so.”

Soohyun rolled his eyes at the younger, laughing. “Ouch, my throat.”

“Revenge!” Kiseop chuckled.

The other members then slowly filled the room, and while Kibum and Alexander insisted on sitting on the far end, Kevin and Eli asked more about their condition.

“Is it the air-conditioner?” Kevin questioned with a slight pout, pointing at the air-conditioner. “When I have a sore throat, I cannot be in an air-conditioned place because it’s dry and it’ll hurt more.”

“You have a red nose~ You have a red nose~!” Eli grinned. “Kiseop, the red-nosed human, had a very shiny nose~!”

“It’s not Christmas!” Alexander screamed, covering his ears.

Kibum laughed at Alexander’s reaction, before standing up and pulling Kevin away from the sick duo. “You don’t want to catch the flu bug.”

“That’s very mean of you, to stay away from them!” Kevin chided, but Kibum stared back.

“Well, then stay away from me.” Kibum shrugged, instantly changing Kevin’s mind. The younger then clung onto the older member and followed him to Alexander’s position.

Dongho quickly walked in with their manager following behind, instantly getting everyone to stand up to start practice.

-

“My flu got worse.” Kiseop lamented, sneezing a series of at least eight times, causing him to be unable to reply to Kevin’s question (“How?”) for about a minute. “Ahh….ahh….ahh- I- AHCHOO!”

Kevin patted his back sympathetically, suddenly conscious of a certain glare on him. He shifted slightly away, looking apologetically at Kiseop. “I hope you get better.”

Kiseop nodded, rubbing his nose while Kevin went to sanitize his arms and wherever else that was exposed. Either that or he would have to stay away from Kibum for the rest of the day.

When Alexander came in, he instantly asked about Soohyun’s whereabouts. The second oldest hadn’t reached though, making Alexander shrug. “I’ll wait then.”

Eli bounced in and blinked at everyone. “Anyone else sick?”

“Are you?” Alexander’s worrying radar instantly switched on, checking Eli’s forehead temperature and his mental health. “You’re fine, Eli.”

“I know. I was just asking.” Eli pouted, feeling slightly wronged with the deadpanned look Alexander was giving him.

Soohyun finally walked in, eyes unfocused as he did. “Why did I even leave house?”

Alexander quickly moved towards Soohyun and passed him a bottle of homemade honey. “Here, I made you this for your sore throat.”

“Why don’t I get anything?” Kiseop asked sadly, looking to Kevin for comfort.

“Honey doesn’t cure flus.” Alexander apologised, moving to pat Kiseop’s head. “I have Panadol though!”

“I want!” Kiseop and Soohyun chorused, glaring at each other when Alexander said he only had one pill left.

“I’m sicker, I can’t even hear myself properly!” Kiseop exclaimed, words indeed coming out in a mess.

“But I have double attacks, one from flu and one from sore throat.” Soohyun weakly said, voice lower than usual.

Kibum laughed, standing on Kiseop’s side (partly because Kevin has a higher tendency to stick around Kiseop than Soohyun). “I say Kiseop should get it, because Soohyun has honey.”

“Kibum’s right.” Alexander agreed. “Okay, Kiseop gets the last pill!”

Dongho, however, walked in with a box of Panadol because he thought he was growing sick. Kevin kissed him for being a lifesaver, while he ran away from Kiseop and Soohyun. He was trying to avoid getting sick, for goodness sake!

-

“I have a headache.” Kiseop sighed. “I think it’s because I’m not getting enough oxygen, which is because I’m not breathing through my nose.”

“I think-” Kibum stated curtly. “-that it means you should start breathing through your nose.”

“Both my nostrils are blocked, hyung.” Kiseop sneezed, while Kibum scrambled to move away. “I can’t breathe when they’re blocked. I’d die from suffocation!”

“A fever is growing on me, I swear I might just drop dead or something.” Soohyun announced his entrance, and Kibum decided to leave the area.

Dongho was beside Soohyun as his walking stick, balancing the older to make sure he didn’t fall to the ground if he fainted midway. “If I get sick, you’re going to pay for all the damages. Including my acting career, the shows I’ll be on, and whatever else.”

Soohyun was placed on the floor while Dongho went to get Alexander’s bottle of honey for the main vocal (not without stealing a sip, though). Kiseop asked for his bottle, which Alexander decided to make because it was emotional incentives for the younger.

Both of them gulped down their share, Soohyun complaining that it was too sweet and hurting his throat even more, while Kiseop complaining that he couldn’t taste it.

“The two of you are so troublesome.” Dongho shuddered, backing away. “I don’t want to be a troublesome kid, so I should shun the flu-cum-troublesome-bug.”

The two looked at Dongho, amused, before shrugging at each other.

“I feel so tired.” Soohyun yawned, sulking. “I dislike being sick.”

Kiseop wanted to reply, only to be cut by his own series of sneezing that wouldn’t stop. He reached for many tissues to blow his nose into, cleaning it and causing it to turn red. When Kiseop looked up at Soohyun, his double eyelid was a lot more obvious than before.

Soohyun frowned, insisting he was burning up.

-
It had been days, and although no one else got sick, Kiseop’s and Soohyun’s conditions showed no improvements.

“Let’s just be sick buddies.” Kiseop joked, rubbing his nose a little more.

Soohyun coughed violently before nodding. “Yeah. But I’m sicker than you.”

“Not again?” Kiseop sighed. “Are you bent on winning me, trying to be sicker?”

Soohyun caught Kiseop’s head and started squeezing it in his embrace. “You crazy? Why would I want to be sicker than you. I just am.”

Kiseop pulled away and pressed his lips together, as if contemplating.

Kevin then ran in with a bright smile, sitting with the two of them and giving a bigger smile.

Kiseop and Soohyun stared back to the best of their ability. Kiseop started sneezing.

“Well?” Kevin waited, anticipating.

“Well what?’ Soohyun coughed out, rubbing his throat to soothe the pain somehow.

“Erm, I bought a bottle of new cologne and was waiting for you guys to smell it.” Kevin pouted. “Doesn’t it smell different?”

Kiseop sneezed again. “I think my nose says it’s too strong.”

Soohyun looked at Kiseop quizzically, before staring at Kevin with wide eyes. “I don’t smell a thing.”

The two younger ones stared at Soohyun incredulously. Kevin even shifted closer to let his collar touch Soohyun’s nose, which only made the oldest push him away.

“Ew, don’t come onto me like that.” Soohyun laughed, shaking his head. “Nope, don’t smell a thing.”

(Kiseop agreed internally that Soohyun’s sicker. Today.)

“But-but…it’s true!” Kevin whined. “I pressed the spray about four times! It should be strong…”

“Why would you press it four times?!” Kiseop and Soohyun exclaimed, before returning to their sneezing and coughing.

Kevin pouted, waiting for a reaction when Alexander stepped in.

“WHO WASTED COLOGNE TO FRESHEN UP THE ROOM?” Alexander coughed, covering his nose. “I can’t breathe in this state!”

With a wide smile, Kevin was left happy for the day. Even when Kibum decided he smelled too nice for his sensitive nose and pushed him away.

-

“Are the both of you ever going to get better?” Eli asked curiously.

Kiseop and Soohyun shook their heads. “Don’t know.”

“I know!” Eli grinned widely, beckoning the two to move closer towards him. “You guys must have done naughty things together at night…”

The two looked at him weirdly, before quickly shifting away from each other.

“Make sense, doesn’t it? That’s why the both of you can’t get well, because you’re constantly spreading the virus among the both of you.” The rapper continued ranting off. “They say that when you spread your virus to someone else, you get better. Since it goes in a loop, I guess you two will never get better!”

“…”

Kiseop and Soohyun ended up sticking around different members (excluding Eli because he refuses to be sick, knowing their intentions) to try to “give away” their misery. The only unsuspecting target would be Kevin, and only Kevin.

Kiseop and Soohyun ended up fighting for Kevin’s attention.

-

Somehow or rather, Kevin is immune to the virus they were trying to spread. Kiseop and Soohyun sighed, resigned to their fate of being sick buddies.

“I guess it’s nice to be sick.” Soohyun commented, wheezing. “We can rest any time we want.”

Kiseop sort of agreed. “But it’s not nice to be away from the crowd.”

“Think of the bright side.” Soohyun shrugged.

“What? That I am left with you and you’re left with me?” Kiseop laughed. “What kind of bright side is that?”

Soohyun stared at Kiseop, pushing him down to the floor and crawling onto him. With eyes intent and voice low, he gazed at Kiseop below him, face flushed from a burning fever. “That in sickness and in health, I’ll still be with you.”

Kiseop’s head ached at the sudden push, even more so from the words of Soohyun. “What?”

“Nothing.” Soohyun smiled, but left a kiss lingering on Kiseop’s lips.

-

Kiseop blamed his fever on Soohyun because he never had it, which Soohyun accepted willingly.

(“It means you’re burning for me.”)

They sort of got themselves into an unofficial relationship from then on.

-

The duo got better together, one day, realising they could sing their usual notes and breathe the air again. Everyone else was waiting for the official couple of the group to walk in, when Kevin ran in teary-eyed.

“I’m-“ Kevin sneezed. “-sick!”

Kiseop patted Kevin’s head pitifully, while the rest understood what the two words really meant.

Thus, when Kibum walked in with a more nasally voice than before and homemade congee by his mother, the crowd cheered.

“What? You guys are glad that I’m sick?!”

Kevin flung himself into Kibum’s arms and nodded, rubbing his running nose with his hands and giggling.

-

Kay, my Kemaru bias is very strong .___. I'm sorry for SooSeop not having a clear ending, I blame that partly on Kiseop's blur self lol. Since Kiseop's blur, Soohyun just does things his way. The very vague kind of relationship LOL. /is just making up excuses.
