Being a superstar was something he didn't expect when he first joined the company as a trainee. He just wanted to be a singer.

They didn't tell him what he would be just yet, waiting till a group called Super Junior'05 was formed and had debuted before telling him he would be in it soon.

The time when he had to join came, and Kyuhyun thought it was probably the most troublesome issue possible. Super Junior'05 also became Super Junior, apparently no longer a rotational group.

With two luggage carrying all his personal items, no one paid any attention to him as he entered the dormitory with the spare keys his manager gave him. They were all doing various things, from a pretty short guy cooking in the kitchen to a small-eyed guy playing with a...terrapin.

So now, where should he go?

"Oh, hello. Are you the new guy? I'm Eunhyuk, your member." Eunhyuk asked with a reserved smile, offering to help carrying one of the luggage that looked a bit too heavy for Kyuhyun with no visible muscles.

"Yeah." Kyuhyun lowly replied, involuntarily taking a step back while giving a slight bow. Admittingly, he wasn't the most sociable person ever. "Where..."

"You will have to share a room with me." Another boy he hadn't seen appeared beside him, chuckling slightly at Eunhyuk. "He doesn't like to share a room because he has too many things he organises himself."

"Heh." Eunhyuk laughed sheepishly. "Oh, he's Sungmin."

Kyuhyun bowed back as the other greeted him formally, before leading him to the shared room.

Helping Kyuhyun hold the door, Sungmin briefly introduced the room to him. "I also emptied the left closet for you and if you need more space, tell me and I'll help arrange."

"Thank you." Kyuhyun mumbled, leaving his luggage on the floor and noticing a small bed void of pink bed sheets and pink pillow covers. That's probably his, and the pink one is probably Sungmin's.

Pink...?

The other boy probably took his silence as uncomfortableness, excusing himself while asking Kyuhyun to make himself comfortable.

Well, guess that's it. He is now an official member of Super Junior'05 and he should be living with four other guys. Unless there's more that went out or something.

Unpacking as neatly as it is possible (because Kyuhyun isn't the most organised person ever...actually, rooming with Eun...hyuk? Yeah, it might be better), Kyuhyun tried not to get his laptop out and play StarCraft. He tried really hard not to succumb to temptations.

At least his clothes were in the right place when the computer was starting to start up. At least his luggage was placed under his bed and away. At least, he was organising the...um, table.

-

Eunhyuk got everyone to form a circle when Ryeowook finished making lunch. The dishes were kept in their respective places just so Ryeowook could heat it up a bit when Eunhyuk's done with asking whatever he wanted from them all.

"Let's talk to Kyuhyun and know more about him so we can get friendly with each other." Eunhyuk stated. "We wait for him to be done packing, do some introduction and then have lunch."

Yesung widened his eyes, before nodding a tad bit too enthusiastically. "Good idea!"

Ryeowook and Sungmin exchanged glances, agreeable, and therefore the four of them sat around on the floor.

It started off as them purely waiting.

Then Ddangkoma came into the picture.

Yesung distracted Ryeowook with his beloved pet.

Eunhyuk whipped out his phone and played the golf game inside.

Sungmin sighed.

"I'm hungry." Yesung pouted, leaning his head against Ddangkoma's shell. "Ddangkoma is hungry too."

"Aww." Ryeowook patted Yesung's head lightly, looking at Eunhyuk with puppy eyes. "Could we please eat first, Eunhyuk-hyung?"

Staring at Sungmin's (and now also Kyuhyun's) room, the dancer sighed with a nod. He stood up while helping Sungmin up, and then walked to the kitchen to help Ryeowook, who already went to heat up the food as pre-planned. "Sungminnie, go tell him we would be eating lunch."

Yesung washed the dish…for Ddangkoma’s lunch.

Sungmin nodded in agreement, taking steps towards his room. He knocked twice before entering, just a warning in case Kyuhyun was changing or something.

Twitching as he saw the scene before him, he cleared his throat to make known his presence. “Kyuhyun, it’s time for lunch.”

“You guys can go on without me.” Kyuhyun said, a tint of impatience in his voice as he furiously tapped away while clicking quickly. “I’ll be there as soon as the game is over.”

Sungmin almost wanted to tell the new member that they were all waiting for him to get out of the room to talk when he realised they didn’t tell him they would be doing such a thing. He probably didn’t even think it would happen, since they did treat him pretty much coldly when he first entered the dormitory.

“We were waiting for you…” Sungmin’s words trailed off, eyes looking around the room. “You’ve finished unpacking?”

“Yes!” Kyuhyun grinned, winning a game. “GG!”

“Huh?” Sungmin turned back to Kyuhyun confusedly. The younger exited his game and stood up to face Sungmin.

“Sorry, did you say something?” Kyuhyun blinked, and the other noticed the tinge of shyness returning to his voice.

“Let’s go eat.”

-

The introduction circle after lunch didn’t go quite well. After finding out that Kyuhyun’s the youngest, loves StarCraft, loves singing, the conversation died down.

“I…think that’s all.” Eunhyuk smiled uncertainly. “Let’s all go do what we want to do.”

Ryeowook quickly agreed, just in case things got more awkward. Yesung stared in anticipation as Ddangkoma took a step forward, and another one, and yet another one.

Eunhyuk crawled away and switched on the television to busy himself. Kyuhyun took the offer to return to play StarCraft.

Sungmin said nothing, plainly observing the other members’ behaviour.

-

It was probably obvious to the bubblier, crazier and louder members that Kyuhyun was socially awkward.

Eeteuk tried to solve that, since he was the leader and that was his job.

“Kyuhyun-ah…” Eeteuk called out, smiling kindly to start the conversation. “How was the day’s practice?”

“Fine.” Kyuhyun replied simply. It was purely because he lacked a better thing to say about practice, with it being something he had expected since he signed the contract.

To Eeteuk, who had all intentions to get Kyuhyun more comfortable with the other members, Kyuhyun probably didn’t want it. Trying again, he laughed as naturally as it is possible in the situation. “We have a water dispenser near the toilet. Do you want to come with me to get a cup?”

“I have my bottle.” Kyuhyun shook his head with an apologetic smile, leaning back against the wall when Eeteuk nodded.

The leader sighed in defeat as he stood up, asking Eunhyuk if it was usual for Kyuhyun to act this way.

“I don’t really talk to him. Maybe you should ask Sungmin, they stay in the same room.” Eunhyuk made a face, backing away.

“What are you guys talking about?” Ryeowook asked, bouncing towards them.

“What do you think of Kyuhyun?” Eeteuk questioned, since they were living in the same dormitory.

“He’s very…introverted.” Ryeowook scratched his head cutely, thinking a bit deeper. “And he washes the dishes, so he’s a nice boy.”

Yesung agreed out of the blue, while Shindong and Kangin dragged him away to be executed. Or something.

“Sungmin-hyung!” Ryeowook greeted as Sungmin re-entered the practise room, probably after getting some cold water splashed on his face.

The pretty boy walked towards the crowd with a friendly smiling face, looking curiously at the leader when he called him. “Hm?”

“How is Kyuhyun as a fellow member?” Eeteuk frowned concernedly. If even Sungmin had no idea, things were probably pretty bad.

“I’m still figuring out.” Sungmin chuckled a bit. “But don’t worry, I’m getting there.”

-

Kyuhyun shifted uncomfortably in his bed, causing some shuffling noises to be heard. Sungmin turned his head to look at Kyuhyun, who had an arm over his head before turning his body again in search of a more comfortable position to last him through the night.

“The other members are sensing it.” Sungmin quietly stated, noticing the immediate stop in movement by the younger member.

Even the air was still.

“Tell me you’re breathing.” Sungmin continued.

“Why aren’t you asleep?” A lower voice asked, and hearing so little of Kyuhyun talk, Sungmin almost thought it was someone else speaking.

“Why do you want to distance yourself from the rest of us?” Sungmin replied the question with another one of his own, facing the ceiling curiously due to seeing the younger stare at it. It was dimly lit by the streetlights outside that shone into their room, and the shadows casted were pretty, of different shapes due to things obstructing the light rays.

Was Kyuhyun also looking at the same scene?

“I’m…” Kyuhyun started off unsurely, the hint of sadness clear in his voice. “…not confident.”

“In what?”

“Blending in.”

-

Hankyung looked at Sungmin weirdly, who brought everyone from his dormitory up to the louder members’ dormitory.

“Hyung, cook us Bejing fried rice.” Sungmin grinned cutely, holding onto Kyuhyun’s wrist and giving him a quick tour around the new environment. “It’s a lot dirtier here because…they’re dirty.”

“Hey!” Heechul growled. “Why are you here?!”

“Because I wanted to eat Hankyung-hyung’s fried rice.” Sungmin smiled innocently, blinking twice for emphasis.

Heechul gave him a sideway glance while looking at Kyuhyun. A grumble was heard and Sungmin started bouncing around again.

Kyuhyun saw the sparkling glint in Sungmin’s eyes, and was thankful for whatever the older member was trying to do. And however small, Kyuhyun knew, a part of him didn’t see Sungmin as just another member anymore.

-

“Nervous?” Sungmin chuckled, while Yesung poked his nose into the pair of roommate’s business.

“Yeah.” Kyuhyun nodded, smiling briefly. “It’s my first stage, after all.”

“It’d be fine.” Eeteuk reassured, patting Kyuhyun affectionately. Ever since Sungmin did a variety of things to include Kyuhyun into Super Junior’s daily activities, Eeteuk grew fond of the maknae that could be pretty random and funny in his own way.

“I could explode like a time bomb.” Kyuhyun touched his heart and jokingly pumped his chest, trying but still not hiding his nervousness.

“Cut the red wire.” Yesung blinked, before realising everyone was staring at him. Cowering away, he mumbled to himself sadly. “That’s what they do on TV…”

“You’ll be fine.” Sungmin stepped forward and gave the youngest member a hug, the first ever they shared. “We’ll all be on stage with you.”

Smile tugging the ends of his lips for a totally different reason at that moment, Kyuhyun agreed.

He never thought he would be a superstar. With this dream coming true, wasn’t it like a second reality? Because he is, living this dream.

(A secret dream he had was finding someone he loved. He did, he found someone.)

-

Days were easier after everyone got to know Kyuhyun, and Sungmin no longer needed to stay by his side and help him out in times of trouble and confusion.

Except that maybe Kyuhyun wanted Sungmin to stay by his side.

The older member seemed to be really friendly to everyone else, all smiles whenever. The few times when he saw the older member sad were all in the confines of their shared room, and that was only because he acted like he was playing StarCraft. The moment he is out of the game, Sungmin advises him to sleep and goes to bed himself.

Members all liked Sungmin’s company once in a while, and in a group of thirteen members, that once in a while becomes the whole week, the whole fortnight and maybe sometimes the whole month. For one whole month, Kyuhyun could only greet the older boy before he was whisked away by some member.

Things weren’t the most optimistic for Kyuhyun, and whenever he wanted to come up with something just so Sungmin could be with him for one day, only one day, nothing comes to his mind.

He wasn’t sure if Sungmin could understand his heart.

If the older doesn’t, it’s not about not talking to Sungmin for a month. It’s about not ever sharing a room, sharing a cup, sharing a dormitory, sharing intimate stories.

Ever, again.

-

There was a kissing card game for Super Junior Mini-Drama and Yesung’s team was bent on winning.

(Shindong was upstairs and was too lazy to practise something as minor as this.)

“We have to practise more…” Ryeowook sighed, getting bored of the game and also have muscles aches at his cheeks. Both hands shifted up to his face, he massaged the sore area for a moment.

“Kissing was probably never so tiring.” Yesung pouted, sitting dejectedly between the two magnaes.

“No comment.” Kyuhyun shrugged. It wasn’t that bad for him, but it might be because of the older boy on his other side.

“Come on.” Sungmin shook his head, laughing at Ryeowook and Yesung before clearing his throat. “Let’s try it again.”

“You should start.” Ryeowook said, though his eyes were desperately pleading just to get more rest for his tired cheeks. “Sungminnie-hyung~!”

“All right, all right.” The said boy started the stopwatch, before quickly sucking one of the cards from the deck to his mouth and then blindly groped around from Kyuhyun’s neck.

The younger hesitated for a second, when he was suddenly pulled closer. In the rush, the card slipped out of Sungmin’s weak hold and fell between their bodies as their lips met due to the mistake.

Sungmin was still jutting out his lips, as if making sure Kyuhyun got the card in his mouth before pulling away, and then afterwards realised that the other two in the game were staring at him. “Hm?”

“You both kissed.” Yesung said in fascination, eyes wide and innocent. “Did you feel sparks?”

Ryeowook giggled at Yesung’s dorkiness as Sungmin shook his head with an amused smile.

Sungmin probably didn’t think much of it. Yet to Kyuhyun, just feeling those pink, plush lips on his own for that second was enough to send fireworks exploding in him.

And that one second reality would be able to pull him through the many days of neglect, because as much as Kyuhyun would like to believe, Sungmin’s life isn’t only about him.

Just that one second, Kyuhyun could feel his heart hope for love again.

-

The routine kept repeating, the cycle kept going on.

With hopes, he gets disappointed.

Without them, he gets affection.

Everytime he thinks there’s no more chance, Sungmin smiles at him and every negative thing in his mind disappears.

If Sungmin was the Sun, then Kyuhyun was the eight planets orbiting around the centre, that is sometimes shines brightly at him, and other times shines at his back such that he can’t see the concern (or the lack of it). The darkness he faces, the nights alone, are all longer than the brightness.

Kyuhyun thinks it’s so unfair, so unfair for his nights to be so long, and his mornings to be as short as nothing on bad days.

Yet as much as he is tired of this, he was on a one-way road. In a roundabout.

The life of his was to revolve around the centre, and his pivot is the one and only older member.

Staring at him sleep peacefully on bed, Kyuhyun couldn’t resist but to steal Sungmin’s doll from the side of his bed. Unable to build up courage to kiss the older member just once more, he settled for the replacement, planting a kiss as sweetly and as gently as possible.

On his second reality, he’s pinning all his hopes on that one second reality.

Would his last dream ever, ever come true?

-

So. I'm not the best Suju writer, forgive me.
