The custom comment view comes along with s2 by default, whether you have a free account or a paid one.

You can indeed customize your views using a stylesheet. Generator allows the use of an external stylesheet (it's somewhere in the Custom options section of the Customize page). If you are a paid user you can also use a Theme Layer and the print_custom_head function. (Theme Layer tutorial for Component, print_custom_head 101).

Now if you want to have a completely different style for your comment view such as Magazine for your comment view and Generator for the rest of your layout, you'd have to re-code this view and that's not something a beginner wants to do. :)
