I am totally new at making s2 and I really want to know if there are like simple to understand tuts anywhere for either flexi squares or smooth sailing. I understand what layers are and the functionalities and just the basics, but I have no friggin' clue how to get started. None of the FAQS on lj really state how to get everything started - just

I've been to both of those communities but they don't really have like a tutorial for getting started.

s2flexisquares has tutorials for just about everything, and several posts intended for beginners under the beginners guide tag. You'll have better luck there than in this comm, because this one is pretty much dead.

At cartonage, there is a full guide on how to make the CSS for Flexible Squares layout. It's trial and error, really.
