custom heading

My custom heading doesn't extend all the way across the entry box and the side bar, so that it starts a repeat at the point the side bar starts. Is there a way to correct that? Does that make sense?

You either need to resize the entry box and side bar to a smaller size or you need to increase the number of pixels in your heading to match the pixels currently in the entry box + the side bar.

Thanks for your help.

I don't see how to resize the heading. Is that done with special codes?

Go to Manage Accounts. Then go to Customize Journal. Hit the button that says Edit Customizations. This will bring up the customization tool. What you're looking for is under the "Presentation" Tab. About halfway down the page there are two options:

Content Area Width in Pixels
Sidebar Width in Pixels

These two need to add up to the number of pixels that should be in your header if you don't want it to repeat.

If you like your current layout, you'd probably be better to check the number of pixels in the content area and the sidebar, add those together and then use a photo editing program to resize your header such that it's width equals the width of both the content area and the sidebar.

The other option is to shrink your content and sidebar widths to match your header but that won't leave you with much real estate on your LJ.
