Can you explain why on my recent entries page everything's all right, but on the friends page entries background disappears. How can I change that?

There's an oversized picture on this entry which is causing the layout to break. You can either use placeholders for images wider than your layout can take by going to the "viewing options" page of livejournal, ask that person to put the image behind a cut or download Mozilla, which interprets the CSS correctly and will not break.
