I had the fortunate experience of purchasing Case Zero prior to Dead Rising 2's release, so I had a good idea of what the final game would be like. It was very enjoyable, but thanks to a tighter gaming and life-schedule these days, I woke up yesterday intent on canceling my pre-order and swapping it to a rental. I thought the game didn't release

Dead Rising 2: Wonderful, wonderful game, but there's just one area where it's lacking over the original. There's no overarching tension or despair over a zombie apocalypse. This is just another outbreak in a growing string, and practically business as usual for the military; everyone knows they just have to wait it out. Compared to the original where the outbreak is a total mystery and there is no way to know if rescue will really ever come, or whether it's the start of a global apocalypse, this game unfortunately cannot live up to atmosphere in that sense
