So Eureka has a zoo! They have a volunteer program, and I'm going to apply for it (yes, huge application form, takes at least a month before you would possibly be accepted or denied!). Well, I finished my sock. It's a tad bit... small. I apparently wasn't measuring the foot correctly. It MIGHT fit my moms foot, since mine are bigger than hers. We'll see.
