Title: Prisoner of love
Rating/Warnings: PG
Note: My girl universe! I hope you'll like it. :D Thanks to the miss who betaed me.
« This place is beautiful!!! Not only that, no, actually it mainly depends of the time of the day when you go there. Yeah, it's important. Our view of a place isn't really the same whether you go to there day or night... it's crazy. »
I smile to my friend who seems happy of his new discovery. It's true that you see the perception difference in the two cases. I know pretty well how it is since I had already taken some photos of that place in both cases.
« Ouah... The idea can seem obvious but I never paid attention to that before today. As people say, you learn things every day. Kazama-san, come to see the view we have from that place. »
He's enjoying himself. I come closer to a bar and press my hands on it to take a peek. Satou-san has his hand on my shoulder in a friendly way and he points to the horizon in front of us. Yes, no matter how many times I see such a landscape, it's still as beautiful as it was at the first time I had him under my eyes. I can't hold back anymore so I raise the camera around my neck and take some shots.
I feel the gaze of my friend at me but I don't care about it. I'm currently in my own little world and I don't see anything except what is in my field of vision, the one of my lens. I take shot after shot, I go a little more to the right, then to the left in order to have a better sight of a certain corner of the scenery. My intense concentration doesn't prevent me from admiring what I'm shooting. That the natural forest in front of me is shining under the sunshine of an early afternoon. Normally, this kind of landscape owns already a quaint charm. At this moment of the day, the shine adds more lights and so the forest is sparkling like a diamond. I want to capture that sparkle before it disappears. I turn my camera several times so that I can take pictures of this forest from various angles. You never get enough shots of a scenery, no matter the number of times you take photos of it. Each time you discover it once more and I won't ever get tired of that feeling.
« Here, I think it'll be enough.
- It's you who wanted to show me that place but from the two of us, I feel like you're the one who's the more amazed.
- Maybe so. »
I'm glad to be back here, it's been a while, and I like showing what my life looks like to Sato-kun. It's funny though, at first I only considered him a replacement at my previous job as assistant photographer. He called me one day because he needed some advice for work and since I was working there before him, he knew I could be of some help. They had given him my number since they were sure I wouldn't dare to say no to help somebody...
And afterwards... he has become a very close friend before I noticed it. I'm very happy to know him. The first time we met, it was strange to see someone taking my place. I certainly felt a bit of bitterness. It was a job I'd been doing for a long time after all. Still, that feeling didn't last, it has only been brief. I loved my previous job but it wasn't my calling, it wasn't my dream.
« Oh, the wind is rising. »
I raise my head and look around me.
« You're right. It's not too strong, it's enjoyable. »
Again, I take some shots of the surrounding landscapes, making Sato-kun laugh.
« Kazama-san, you take shots really too easily.
- I'm often told that. »
At that moment, while I turn my back to my friend to take a picture of something, I can hear the noise of a trigger. I turn back, knowing exactly what he had just done.
« Again?
- Again, yes. Sorry, it looks like I can't help either. »
I let out a sigh of exasperation.
« As always, I guess you won't show me your shot? »
He hides his cell phone right away as if it was his most precious treasure.
« Absolutely not, I told you I will use these pictures I shot of you for Koharu-chan.
- I know that, except you didn't tell me yet how you would use them. In an album? A poster? »
He makes a sign before his lips to show he won't tell me anything.
« You'll know everything on the day of her tenth birthday. It's what I told you the first time and I will repeat it again. »
I can't help to crack up.
« You're very serious about that gift. How many times did you shoot me until now... ten times? Fifteen? You're really excited about this.
- It's for the girl of a very good friend of mine after all. »
I pat his shoulder to thank him for all this attention. While doing that, I check out my watch.
« Ah!!! It's time for me to go home, I've promised to Koharu-chan to take her to an aquarium. I don't want to go there too late in the afternoon.
- Ah yeah, the elderly couple whom owns your house are looking after her. It's what you told me normally.
- I often think that I'm lucky that they live the floor below, they helped me so many times... I wouldn't have been able to cope it alone at the beginning with Koharu-chan without them. Furthermore, their coffee is really not bad. Homemade, it's always better than the one you can buy in shops. It's convenient in morning before going to work.
- I agree. I also buy coffee at their place because I hardly can live without it since the first time I have tasted it.
- I quite understand. It had the same effect on me too. Well... »
We turn to each other to shake hands while saying goodbye at the same time.
« See you soon, Kazama-san.
- See you, Sato-kun. »
And then, we're both gone on a side of the road to go back to our own house.

Once Kazama is out of my field of vision, I take a picture out of my pocket. I shot it one day when I was at his place. I look at it with melancholic eyes, sad actually. We can see two people on it, Kazama-san when he was a student, and... his wife, Tsukamoto Yoko-san.
« Will you be able one day to treat me like her, Masamune ? »
PS : Here you can see the landscape described by Masamune :
