Chapter 11: Surprises
Soft knock was heard then a maid opened the door.
“Excuse me to bother you, but a lawyer is here. He says he wants to speak with Masaki-sama” she said bowing her head.
Jun frowned hearing this and was ready to open his mouth to tell the maid to send the man off but Aiba’s father preceded him.
“Send him in” he said calmly putting away some papers in a folder.
Both Jun and Aiba looked surprised at this. The younger boy then looked toward the door confused. Why would a lawyer looking for him?...
Soon the maid returned escorting in a young man in a black suit, holding a briefcase in his left hand. He bowed toward Aiba’s father and looked at only him.
“Thank you for receiving me. My name is Ohno, I’m Aiba Masaki-san’s legal counsel…” he announced calmly handing a name card to the older man.
“Nii-san…” Aiba breathed out silently.
“What can I help you, Ohno-san?” Aiba’s father asked barely wasting time for looking at the small card in his hand.
“My clients personal rights were violated manifold times by this man…” he said pointing at Jun. “Therefore I asked for a warrant from the court to stall him off from my client. Together with this I’m requesting now a legal conciliation to my client what was as well disowned from him.”
“This is a stupid non-sense! I’m not willing to abide these insults from a…!” Jun protested furiously glaring at Ohno who looked back at him calmly.
“Jun-kun! Don’t create a scene here!” Aiba’s father warned the young man. “All right, Ohno-san, I can give you one hour with my son, that must be enough. After that we have official engagements…”
“Thank you very much, sir!”
Ohno bowed to Aiba’s father then stepped to the boy, looking at him for the first time since he entered and escorted him out of the room…
“What? How can you let them walk just out?” Jun asked frustrated.
“Jun-kun! I don’t want to repeat myself!” Aiba’s father warned him again. “By the way to answer your question, I’m not willing to go through a public affair at the court. You might not know it but this Ohno-san is a really bright lawyer just like his father. He won very complicated cases when he was just a trainee yet. He had a very appealing career in front of him though he stepped back for some reason a few years ago…” the man explained to him. “He’s a really dangerous opponent… But there’s nothing to worry, unless you made some stupid mistakes…” he added coldly.
“No, sir…” Jun said. He didn’t, right?...
“Nii-san!” Aiba started relieved when they were out of the mansion.
But Ohno just smiled at him softly and said nothing till they got into a taxi. He gave an address to the driver then looked at Aiba.
“Are you okay, Ma-chan? You look pale…” the older man asked studying his face.
Aiba shook his head and smiled.
“I’m fine, don’t worry” he said to reassure Ohno; after all he doesn’t need to know about those faints, right?
“Good” Ohno smiled back at him. “Otherwise Sho-kun would kill me…” he added joking.
“Is Sho-san here in Tokyo too?” Aiba asked and suddenly became more excited.
“Of course; we all came…” Ohno said and chuckled a bit.
A happy smile beamed on Aiba’s face hearing this. They all came! Sho came! A few minutes later the car stopped in front of a huge building…
When they heard the lock turning open, both Sho and Nino looked up immediately. Sho even got up from his seat and stepped closer to the door, fearing Ohno might come back alone…
Ohno opened the door and when his eyes met with Sho’s hopeful orbs he grinned and stepped aside. Aiba stood there behind him, smiling at Sho shy and excited at the same time.
“Masaki…” Sho whispered happily.
“Sho-san!”
The next minute Sho found himself with an armful of Aiba as the younger boy literally jumped on him, wrapping his legs around the older man’s hips, embracing him tightly an pressing his lips on Sho’s.
That was an understatement that Sho was surprised by this but who was he to protest, right? So he put his hands on Aiba’s butt to prevent him from falling and returned his kiss hungrily, not caring about their audience.
Nino crossed his arms over his chest and tapped his foot to the ground impatiently. He even cleared his throat a few times but the couple just didn’t seem to pay attention to anything next to each other.
Ohno chuckled at his boyfriend’s reaction.
“Look it over to them, Kazu… They didn’t see each other for more than a week…” Ohno said gently and pulled the skinny guy into his hug pecking his lips lightly.
“Demo!” Nino pouted childishly which earned another peck on his lips from Ohno.
Then they stole a glance from the other couple who seemed to finish their feverish make-out session by now.
“Nice to see you again, Ma-chan!” Nino said a bit brattily.
Aiba blushed deeply as he slowly put his feet back to the ground, realizing only now what he just did. He wanted to pull away from Sho but the older man locked his arms around his waist keeping him close to himself.
“Ehm… hey, Nino! It’s nice to see you too!” Aiba said embarrassed by his own actions and hid his face more or less into Sho’s shoulder.
“Yeah, but I guess it’s not as nice as seeing aniki…” Nino smirked and decided it was enough revenge for now…
“So, you’ll take me back, right?” Aiba asked with hopeful puppy-eyes when they all settled around the table.
The other three looked at each other at this.
“I’m sorry, baby, but we can’t…” Sho said finally.
“I’ll have to take you back to your place when the one hour, we got, end” Ohno said.
Aiba felt as if he was betrayed. This… this can’t be happening, right? They’re just joking, right? He looked at them searching for signs that they were indeed joking but they all were serious.
“Then why did you even come?” Aiba asked whispering; he felt like crying though he was beyond tears by this time.
“Masaki, baby, how can you ask this? We want you back! And we will take you home just…” Sho started.
“Just what?” Aiba snapped. “You just don’t really care about me, right?”
“Look, Ma-chan! That’s not true but as much as we want you back… It doesn’t work like that. Your father is a powerful man, we can’t just march in there bare handed, demand him to let you go…” Ohno started calmly.
“Though aniki wanted to do just that…” Nino interrupted, earning a glare from both Sho and Ohno. “What?” he mumbled and pouted. He just tried to lighten the mood…
“We have to get something which can stand strongly if we have to take this to the court. A public trial is the only thing what people like your father wants to avoid no matter what” Ohno continued as if Nino said nothing. “My act today was the boldest thing we dared to risk cause all we have is a false letter in your name and it’s not sure we can get even that warrant against Matsumoto just with this… I’m sorry, Ma-chan but we found only this way to stop your marriage…”
Ohno reached out his hand to take Aiba’s but the younger boy pulled away from his touch.
“Then you should just go back. It’s unnecessary for you to stay if you came just for this…” Aiba said and stood up. “I go back, I think, that hour is almost up anyway…”
Sho grabbed his hand when he headed for the door.
“What do you mean we should go back? Don’t you want…?” he asked confused and a bit hurt.
Aiba looked back at the older man blankly.
“What do you think?” he asked back. He hated even the memory of it but they could do nothing to change what happened already…
Aiba didn’t look up or moved when his door was opened and the footsteps approached his bed. For a second there was silent in the room when the other person reached his side. Then Jun grabbed his arm and roughly dragged him to his desk, pushed him down on the chair and put a paper in front of him.
“Sign it!” he ordered.
Aiba looked at the paper - Marriage certificate - then up at Jun.
“This is what you called ‘our wedding’? No flowers, music, hundreds of guests?... Quite shitty for a wedding if you ask me…” he asked with a tiny hint of sarcasm in his voice yet his eyes were almost lifeless.
Jun seemed not to be in the mood to esteem this. He slammed his hand down on the desk and lean close to Aiba’s face, his eyes burning with anger.
“Don’t mess with me, pretty boy, you don’t know yet what I can do if I’m really enraged!”
Grabbing a pen from the table he forced it into Aiba’s hand and held his wrist in his strong grip.
“Sign it right now!”
Aiba still didn’t move to obey. Jun’s hold tightened on his wrist and the boy couldn’t help but winced at the pain.
“You know what will happen if you don’t do it…” he said on a low, dangerous tone. “It’s up to you but can you live with it? That it’s your fault that they life is ruined? That they lost everything they worked for? Can you live with this fact?” he asked whispering into Aiba’s ear.
Aiba pressed his lips together then as if he would’ve seen himself from the outside he saw his hand moving to sign his name at the bottom of the paper…
“Yesterday I signed the marriage papers…”
Aiba didn’t wait for their reactions just ran out of the room. When he turned at the corner on the corridor he stopped and leant to the wall for support. He felt as if he fell into a really bad action movie where the rescue team arrives too late and everything’s lost… Still things felt so twisted and messed up that it had to be real… A wavering sigh left his lips as he put his forehead to the wall and closed his eyes.
“Masaki?”
Someone put a hand on his shoulder. Aiba jerked surprised at the feeling then shrugging off the touch he beckoned away from the other trembling.
“Hey, baby! It’s just me…” Sho said opening his arms and stepped closer to Aiba who this time just stood still and passively let Sho to pull him in his embrace.
“What do you want?” he asked murmuring. “What do you want from me?”
“Don’t you know, Masaki?... I only want to get you back. I want you to be by my side. Always…”
Aiba laughed bitterly.
“Why would you want that? I’m just a ‘spoiled, rich crybaby’, don’t I? I just bother you and cause you trouble… Like with the boat that day…” he said and pulled away from Sho.
“Don’t say this, baby! You’re not bothering me! And that day, with the boat… I’m sorry for yelling at you, I know it wasn’t your fault… that you just wanted to help me…” Sho took Aiba’s hands and entwined their fingers. “Listen, Masaki, I love you! Do you hear me? I LOVE YOU! And I won’t let that bastard to steal you from me. I don’t know what he did to you to make you sign those papers but I’ll find a way to call it off. I don’t care what it takes but I won’t let him to have you or even touch with a finger! Never!” Sho said seriously. “We’ll get you free, go back home and everything will be just how it should be. I promise you. Trust us… trust me, Masaki!”
Aiba looked into Sho’s determined eyes and felt touched by how serious he was. How could he doubt him?... His lips trembled as if he would break down crying and he threw himself into Sho’s arms clinging onto him tightly.
“I don’t want to go back there… I’m afraid of him… He… he…” Aiba hiccupped weakly.
“I know, baby, I know… I don’t want you to go back either but we have no choice yet… Be strong just a little bit longer…”
Ohno and Nino peeked at the corner watching as Sho rocked Aiba in his arms gently, then silently retreated to the room.
“Nee, Satoshi… You sure we’ll be able to help Ma-chan? He seems to be really freaked out because of that bastard…” Nino said silently to his boyfriend.
“That’s one more reason to find out something quickly…” Ohno looked at him.
“So what will we do?” Nino asked.
“Well… I don’t know that yet…” Ohno said pouting his lips frustrated.
Nino took his hand and squeezed it gently.
“That’s okay, Satoshi… We’ll find out something together…” he said reassuring and smiled at the older man then kissed him lovingly.
“Thank you, Kazu” Ohno smiled back at him softly.
“Hey! What if that bastard blackmailed or tricked Ma-chan somehow to agree on the marriage?” the younger guy asked after a while.
Ohno nodded thoughtfully.
“Yeah, that might be… I don’t think they could convince Ma-chan that it’s good for him… But even if it’s true without a proof we just making empty accusations…” Ohno said tiredly.
“Sooo… all we need is a proof? Like a… recording for example?” Nino asked and a smirk appeared on his lips.
“Yeah, but… Kazu! Don’t even think about it!” Ohno warned the younger man. “We can’t charge against him with a made-up recording as a proof! If that’s discovered we all go to the jail together for proof-falsifying!” Ohno protested heatedly.
Nino laughed at him.
“I know, I know!” he wrapped his arms around Ohno’s neck. “You think I want to go back there? Well, I don’t. That was more that enough what we had to stay there with aniki…” Nino said shaking his head. “But… what if I tell you I might know someone who can help us?...” he added with a smirk…
