WOW! that is truely disturbing, they'd never get away with that today, somebody would surely sue them saying that their child was inspired to kill themselves based on the comic strip. A jury would be sympathetic and award them a settlement of hundreds of millions of dollars and a with the money they would form a charitible organization that, in time, would become deeply corrupt. The corruption would inspire a wrongful something lawsuit from somebody and the cycle would continue.

i guess it's good people didn't sue much in the 30's :)
