Bloody hell, snow? Now?
Yup, mid April in beautiful, beautiful Chicago means snow and rain and freezing cold that cancels White Soxs games.
Despite this (& a freezing cold office today) I'm in a very chipper mood - House last night was a blast (despite all the body fluids) and it looks like my Mom & Dad are coming to visit for a few days next week. -
Lazy Saturday mornings...
Good coffee, almond croissant, warm bed, calls from friends, catching up with email, I even sent out beta'd chapters to various folks.
What more could I want? Oh, yes....someone to go get groceries for me (anyone? please?) -
Theater Review - One Fine Day & the state of academic freedom
Friday night was dinner (good Chinese, particularly yummy szechwan pork) and theater at Stage Left to see the new David Rush play directed by Drew Martin (who's a friend). Lazy sunny days, music for House and the status of my now rather less decrepit foot
The high today was supposed to be in the mid-50s, but it was gloriously sunny and felt a lot warmer. And I was feeling lazy & decided to take the day off. To do silly things like laundry and clean my bedroom and catch up on atleast some of my email.

How can....
a Japanese restaurant, a sushi restaurant no less, not offer an oshibori (damp hand towel) and agari (green tea) when you are seated, particularly when seated at the sushi bar. It wasn't just that they didn't offer towels to us, apparently they don't offer them to anyone. WFT ( Read more... )
