Unending
At night, when Anubis steals into the city from the harsh red sands of the desert, His instincts lead Him unfailingly to Her. His Goddess, His Queen, His Bastet. Beneath the open sky above the Nile, He finds Her waiting, golden green eyes rimmed in kohl and shining with the light from the moon. As every time before and every time that will come, She opens Her arms for Him in simple invitation, welcomes Him into to the warmth of Her embrace, Her song of fertility intoxicating upon Her lips, and this is His respite from the dryness of the desert, the lifeless heat and cold that surrounds His very existence.
Here in Her arms, loved with the power of the very stars that look down upon Them, and indeed bring Them together, Anubis is made whole. In spilling His seed deep within Her, His passion and desire for Her as pure as the crystalline summer sky, He returns to Her that which She birthed, to be birthed once again in an endless cycle of life with no beginning and no ending. With this act of worship, the sacred circle is complete, its divine beauty eternal.
