Wow! This chapter is so well-done, Saavi! :)

For a woman uncertain of writing Wee!Dick, you've done a fabulous job! :) The key is always mentioning brightness, and despite the boy's grief and rage that brightness is still there, just dimmed for now. His heart and courage are exhibited during the fight at the circus, and he's already connected with both Bruce and Dick, sharply observing that Bruce is lonely and Clark is kind cool for a nerd! ;) Just wait, Dickie-boy, just wait! ;)

Bruce is already not so dark as he is in recent comics canon due to being lovers with Clark, and he's going to be taken care of by his bright boys just as they will take care of him.

This line is perfect:

The sound of the little boy's sniffles is loud in the suddenly silent tent, and whirling, he finds Dick sitting half-submerged in shadow, the near-rainbow of his costume shimmering in the low light as he sits on the raised circus ring.It describes Dick exactly: able to live half in shadow as he will by Batman's side, but the brightness still there,

I'm so relieved that my version of Dick is working so well. That brightness just couldn't be contained! And he just struck me as so determined and *needing* justice, that he wouldn't be denied.

I think this Bruce has a much better chance of keeping himself from being swallowed by shadows. ^_^ He might never have a chance to brood again, with Clark and Dick around! :p

Glad you liked my description of Dick, there. It just struck me as particularly meaningful, and a gorgeous image.

What a wonderful update....

I love how Dick took it on his own to try and do something. He really is a lot like Bruce...

I like the way you ended it, Dick being hopeful about the changes in his life and I loved Bruce not helping but smile at the end, despite being in batman mode.

The little boy shifts as if he's suddenly uncomfortable, then sighs and relaxes. “He does seem a little lonely, I guess.” He shrugs, “But he told me he lost his parents, too, so maybe that's it. I dunno. That Clark guy seems pretty cool, though, in a nerdy kind of way.”

Aw! LOL, Dick is very sweet but realistically reluctant to move in with unknown people...I really like his conversation with Batman at the end!

He certainly loves his Kryptonian and his little acrobat, of course. I think he'd go to whatever lengths are necessary to keep them safe and happy.
